Siege of Maastricht 1748
« on: September 15, 2024, 10:30:30 AM »
Some pictures of our 15mm game at the Open Monumentendag in the Dutch Artillerymuseum.
The second one gives the fortification of Maastricht on the North side of the town. On the left the old medieval wall with in front the new fortifications.

Wow!  Utterly stunning!  I think that's the best wargame-representation of a siege I've ever seen.

I've just got some bastions under the brush at the moment, but now it all seems quite inadequate...

(Need to buy more...  :D )

I have a couple bastions, a ravelin, curtain wall and the covered way/glacis to go with it, but all is put in the shade by your set up. Hornwork! My goodness!
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss
