Sooo - I was supposed to be working on my AWI figures today but when I went to put away some containers in the shed and I saw this box that had some Old West buildings in it, Alkali Wells buildings, I pulled it out and one thing lead to another and I did a quasi-inventory of my Old West structures.   Found out I have 135 buildings not southwest and another 34 southwest buildings for a grand total of 169.  And you'd think that would be enough but I expect to order at least another 15 (though one will be two false fronts as one model so really 16) all 3D printed, only one for southwest, a church.  Still want another school and a larger Spanish/Mexican church.  That will get me to 187 buildings - excluding outhouses of which I have enough to easily push over 200.

44 of the varied structures are even painted!  Whoopee!   :D  41 of them, at least, are false front buildings (not painted yet though), six of them being tent backed buildings; mostly one story affairs but a few grander two story edifices.

And on the subject of outhouses and two story establishments, I plan to build a fancy multi-hole two story affair that I am going to name Mighty Squishy's Pee House (being an American, I take the fifth amendment regarding any inspiration from any particular LAF member's handle - somewhat abused.  And, so far as I know, the chap is a fine and talented fellow and certainly no insult intended.  Why, heck, from all the oohs and ahh such an 'establishment' is going to elicit from the local folk, perhaps his chest should swell in pride!   lol)   Of course, Mighty Squishy is the nickname of the head barkeep of the fanciest saloon in town, Anachronism, the county seat.  In the little medal - and resin - world, the whole fancy double decker sh*thouse idea is fully ascribed to him.  He is a might nervous since some of the cowpokes have threatened dire consequences if it doesn't 'work as advertised' - if you get the drift, sort of literally on that 'drift'.

Note: Alkali Wells is not a manufacturer but the name of one of my Old West southwest towns - the other being Mescalarilla.

I will try and take photos of the buildings in situ in their storage containers and get them posted up even though it won't be a spectacular display; but evidence of the reality.

I ended the day with all of the buildings - or as many as can fit, a few need taller containers - in a nice, neat set of containers with notes about what is in each one - except for a few I'll have to transfer tomorrow if time permits.

Next quandary is what to do with all those unfinished scratch built structures I've been - glacially slowly - working on, being so few Old West buildings in 15 mm when I got started on this massive project.

Finally, those asking why would I need so many buildings, you just don't understand my benign megalomania when it comes to collecting figures, especially a favored one like the lovely Old West - combined with my Pony Wars.

The promised photos - in storage containers for now.

The first four images are of the Mexican/Spanish type structures:

All Peter Pig buildings from their Mexican Revolution range.

Top left is a Peter Pig church and top right their bakery, same range.  The other buildings are from QRF/Freikorp - not sure they are available anymore.

Top left and right are more QRF/Freikorps.  Then an HO scale windmill.  The other four are from CP models now meant for a Conan style world but will work fine as adobes.

No idea the source of the black buildings, I got them at a swap meet.  The other four were given to me by a friend already painted many years ago.

Now comes the other Old West structures - much of which can be used for ACW and beyond.

First image shows with roofs off and then with them on; two churches and a large building I shall use primarily as a boarding house - the more reputable sort of lodging.

Above are various sheds and barns and a couple of outhouses; most of the painted items are from Miniature Building Authority before they gave up on 15 mm (though they seem to have some new stuff 3D printed no their site now).  Top two painted items other sources.

More barns.

That biggest roof building is from MBA again and will likely be the main town livery stable.  Then more barns and cabins.

Most of the two story houses.

Mostly one story houses.

Except for a couple of lean to sheds meant to add to other buildings, these are all two story false fronts from Stone Mountain.

Mostly one story false fronts, a few 3D printed buildings, and upper right is - I think - a Peter Pig two story affair.  And two of four water tanks, the under parts are metal and will need a stand pipe added to be sensible as far as source for filling the tanks.  Three are Peter Pig and one is Blue Moon.

More one story false fronts, Peter Pig on the left with a bunch of lean-tos and in the plastic bags are chimney pipes and board walks and roofs.  The right are Stone Mountain tents with false fronts.  The other buildings mostly found at swap meets.

This box has a couple of small one rooms school houses, a larger 'seminary' type educational edifice, and three train stations - the big one from QRF/Freikorps.

Not included in the above counts are these dollar store finds - plus top right a metal HO structure from a swap meet.

Some other items not in the count - though some are.  The colorful gate is for the southwest towns.  The wooden items are scratch built or swap meet finds.

In the center is one of my in process scratch builds, a 'blank' for a building on the left, and the two on the right were swap meet finds from a long while back - not sure they will survive to the table.

There is one set of buildings I don't think I will be able to use and those are the Blue Moon Old West ones.  They are really nice buildings but they just don't match with the other ranges.  The photos below show why.

Above is the great saloon - but that figure is a kneeling Dixon Old West figure.  Very clearly these building would be better with 20 mm figures than with 15 mm, even 18 mm.  I think they could even be used with 25 mm and maybe even 28 mm though that is probably pushing it.

The yellow resin is a Stone Mountain false front and it almost works with the Blue Moon to either side.

And then a Peter Pig building in the center.  Quite a bit smaller.

I'd love for someone to convince me these Blue Moon buildings are still useful. Perhaps I can use them as a town on its own but only use the largest figures when putting them on the table.

A bit surprised how many buildings all told here, they had been kept in a variety of different spaces around the homestead.  But now they are all on one shelf in the shed but for one box:

Once everything gets painted it will take a bit more room because some of the buildings will be too tall for those containers.  But one giant step forward getting these all in one place.  Now to get at least some more painted to have a game before the year ends.

Hello, my name is Chris and I am a terrain-a-holic.  It has been one hour and seven minutes since my last terrain purchase.   lol lol lol

Very nice collection.  With what you have in those bins, you could probably map out the whole of the old city plan for Tombstone.  You would just need to build a couple of the unique structures like the Bird Cage.

I bought the Sarissa Precision 15mm set and would love the South if the Border one also. Plus, of course, additional structures. I over do it usually.

My Tabletop Terrain 3D printed buildings arrived today, here are a few photos with some painted (not by me) figures to show scale - 15 mm of course.  The brown buildings were, I think, all from Dungeon Artifacts.  Obviously not yet painted.  Look closely and you will see that there are purposeful imperfections on the roofs and probably not visible but some of the side and front boards as well.

The same figures get moved around in these photos.  The very top building in the photo is an undertaker (actually ordered both they offer - but can use one as some other building if I like) and it came with three coffins, one closed and two open though without occupants - okay, I have others with occupants (and, so far, no luck finding useful 10 mm coffins for children's coffins as discussed in above post - or related thread on game town populations).  The fourth building from the bottom is two-in-one, a saloon and hotel.

Just more of the buildings.  The one with support posts laying down were broken - by me as I unwrapped them but should be fixable.

A really nice old west church.  All of the buildings are pretty nice and most with interior details which I will probably obliterate by gluing the buildings together though some will need at least some painting on the interiors to avoid that 'empty' look through the windows.

And the Spanish - or Mexican - church which the figures actually match to, no texturing on figure bases because I haven't decided how I am going to do it yet.  I think this has me sorted on my southwest churches now.

I only ordered one gallows but got two - which I advised the company just before posting so haven't heard back yet.  I have scenarios in mind where that extra gallows will feature in a game - six folk ready to hang.

Most of the commercial buildings included signs, these were duplicates, the rest are stashed inside the buildings while awaiting paint to keep them from getting lost.  Some of the buildings are meant as residences, three at least.

By far the most challenging model to assemble will be this train station - and the only item with any missing parts, a couple of window inserts and one door insert that I also advised company about.

All of the buildings are designed to be assembled using tiny little magnets but I'm not sure I want to go down that road but it would allow the interiors to be seen.  But seems awfully fiddly and, worse, more likely to result in stuff getting damaged.  Interiors are cool but not so useable in 15 mm.

Oh, and one last very cool feature - the sheriff's office jail cell portion comes as a sort of lean-to and get two sets, one in tact and the other with the back wall dynamited open.  That's fun.  And there is an insert for the bars that I'll use on the damaged version, maybe have players dice for which side of bars the intended escapee is on which might backfire their plans!

With the 'two in ones' I think that adds up to 20 3D printed Old West buildings in the collection and they should match just fine with all those other not 3D printed buildings.  Included in above counts in earlier posts so not an 'addition' just a new arrival.

Now I'm off to see if anyone makes a 15 mm Old West courthouse grand enough for my desires/needs.

Heard back from Tapletop Terrain and they will be shipping missing pieces today.  Pretty darn good quality customer service.  And their lead times are probably better than the other companies I've tried. edit: they shipped the replacement the same day they replied to email!  Impressive!

If one gripe - and it is with all of the 3D preprinting companies I've ordered from: none of them label what you get so you have to carefully sort out what is received to determine if your order is complete or not and just what is what; at least they all have visuals of what is ordered in order acknowledgements which makes the process somewhat easier.

For Cat:

Anachronism - the county seat and jumping off point for heading further west, main town, multiple banks, etc.
Lodgepole Creek - the farthest west on the rail line up in Lakota country
Muleskinner Canyon - the town where the bad men congregate to plan their shenanigans and where lawmen fear to tread
Dork's Claim - the gold prospecting camp, rather vulnerable to depredations
Alkali Wells - the destination point for overland trains heading into the southwest and in Apacheria
Mescalarilla - another town for the badmen but more those who roam south of the border
Bull's Butt - a copper mining camp and also rather vulnerable

And then the environs - ranchers, farmers, stage stations, trading posts, sheep herders, cattle drives with their chuck wagons, etc.

Buildings meant to represent all of those and, maybe, one day a massive game with all of those towns on the table at the same time - thus so many buildings to fit my long term plan; and a large battle at the far end with the cavalry versus the indigenous folk.  So, there is reason behind my madness - if my reason is perhaps slightly suspect of being itself a bit of madness!   lol
