Prestonpans
« on: September 28, 2024, 08:59:49 PM »
One of my nieces kindly sent these pictures.
As she knows my interest in military history.
She had taken her two young sons to the re-enactment & they were very impressed.

That was certainly nice of her.  Looks like it was a decent event.

Very nice. Units about the size of the ones I field.  :)
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Likewise.  :D
I always thought my ECW units were too small in number of troops, then I joined the SK  :D
On a few (too few) occasions we were gathered together into (almost) realistic numbers. WOW !!!
One training muster they got the entire army of Parliament together for a photo of what ONE
company would have looked like.
On another, a battle, the complete Parliamentarian turn out was organised into just three units.
Quite something being inside a 80 person pike block.
Good memories.

I once put all of our SYW 15mm cavalry (Prussian, Austrian and Russian) together to form a 3-rank cavalry squadron some 150 strong or so.
Recently posted an item that featured a little under 200 Napoleonic French infantry from the same vendor, same pose https://corlearshookfencibles.blogspot.com/2024/08/a-french-battalion-1809-in-15mm.html
Here are 90 as a company, 1 figure = 1 soldier
