Rules for Risk miniatures?
« on: November 10, 2024, 11:28:47 AM »
After coming across a copy of Risk for the princely sum of three English pounds, I just had to buy it. This does, however, leave me with 300 10mm tricorn wearing infantry, cavalry and cannons.

Any suggestions for fairly easy-to-play rulesets with these lads?

Google ‘free wargames rules’ and you’ll have several rules sets to pick from - be aware not all links work. My instinct would be to go for ones using ‘bases’ rather than ‘figures’ in their mechanisms - 0mm is not big :-)
Junior General has a set of fast play rules for Ramillies:

One hour wargames would be another option.

Not quite sure how you will use 6 factions in most table top games though. And yes go with multi-basing!

Oh I wont be using them as six factions, probably 2.

Vodkafan & I are (sometime) going to do the same (he has gathered several sets. There
is also a Napoleonic Set). We are thinking of Soldiers of Napoleon (not cheap) and/or
Valour & Fortitude (was available as a freebie with Wargames Illustrated)

Maurice is a great set of rules.
Strength and Honour is also good.
Black Powder would also work if you like those rules.
