WNC postwar Japan
« on: November 05, 2024, 09:27:33 AM »
Hi all

I have been slowly collecting bits and pieces for a game set in postwar Japan, I've got a few ideas but never had enough to do a proper game.

Well I really liked the look of when nightmares come and realised I could do something a bit supernatural using the stuff I have. The low model count helps as well.

Got a backstory  and a few campaign ideas now I just need to put it together and play the games!

Here are the first 2 members of my team, a salaryman by day, supernatural tinker by night Wright. Then a Buddhist monk with supernatural powers or Weaver.

Great minis and an original setting! I hope you will post some pictures of your games.  :)

Cool.

Have you got some suitable horrors?

Just thought I would mention https://badsquiddogames.com/shop#!/Kasa-obake-1/p/589685059/category=26170741

Thanks for the positive response everyone!

Uvs  I did see that model its really cool and I have been meaning to get some bad squiddo  miniatures too but the supplier in aus doesn't have that yokai  model and I don't know if I want to pay shipping g costs just yet. Tbh I have a bunch of monsters and baddies I was going to use, some are more generic and some are more Japan themed but I would like to use some yokai at some point for sure.

Part of the reason for doing this project is to paint up some terrain I have for samurai games my friends and I have been planning that I thought could do double duty.

Here are some old spooky graves that I originally bought to use for samurai stuff.

Graves are oshiro models, crows are eureka miniatures

Curious, who supplies Bad Squiddo in Aus? I've not noticed them anywhere and couldn't find anything on the BS Retailers listing.

That's actually a great question, I could have sworn either aetherworks or darkcastleterrain  stocked them but I just looked and neither do....perhaps I've just been Mandela effecting myself, it seems on brand with the game at hand, tricks of the mind and false memories etc.

Sorry I couldn't be of help though man.

In an update for the game here are the first lot of baddies, some zombies from eureka. Not a great photo but I did a very basic paint scheme so perhaps it can hide some of the sins

They look well. I did something similar with the Westwind rage zombies and I think it's fine.  :)

Thanks mate

Yeah sometimes just have to get them done, to be honest I don't really enjoy painting "gross" things but I needed them for the game so I just did a quick one.

Hopefully  I can get the first game played on Wednesday and update with some photos.

Well I have not been able to play a game yet been a bit busy with school and work and general laziness.

I did work on some modern roads that I think will get a bit of a run with this game though.

Also got a few civilians done, a bartender, an older gentleman and 3 members of the middle school soccer team.

Plus 2 salarymen  who have had undergone a metamorphosis. I need to grab more of these from eureka to have enough to play.
