3mm Dropship conversion
« on: November 05, 2024, 07:01:07 PM »
Stuck some legs on a starship miniature so that I can use it as a 3mm dropship.
Looking at doing this for a number of other starship miniatures:

And here's another one, the paints barely dry on this one.

Those worked nicely, but I think I'd go with the 6mm ones from Darkest Star as well.  So what if the windows are a bit big?

And of course Ground Zero Games is a good source for landing legs, what with all the walker vehicles and drones.

They look good, never come across those. On the windows issue for smaller scales I either paint out most of the windows or paint glass have way up, so they appear smaller.

Loveley idea and execution.

Now I can't unhear "Legs....in Space!" though. Which legs did you use btw, what model?

Germy,

I give up, what are those ships?

First one looks maybe Brigade Models? Second, similar to newer Traveller Scouts.

Yes I should really have said what ships they were!  ;D

They are both from Brigade Models, the first is:

and the second is:
https://brigademodels.co.uk/product/revanche-class-strikeboat-carrier/

As to the legs, I made them myself, bit of plastic card and putty, and created a little mould to replicate them.

That is a lovely creative solution. Then again, I would not have expected anything less from you :)

Pish posh, I did recognize the first as Brigade Models, though my confusion at the second IS weird. Investigation is called for.

Now that I am fully lost in the weeds, allow me to add my own 'brilliant idea, well executed!'

Apparently, I had seen a Far Trader fig and took it to be an upgraded Scout. Bears some resemblance to the Brigade Models ship. Only reminds me of the need to revisit the store...

With a name of Evans, one would think I would have at least one of your sculpts.
