Good call Carlos.
I’ll remember that when I get round to painting them 👍

Slightly off topic but I've always been interested in the action that took place at the Primosole Bridge in Sicily.  I emailed the folks at Skirmish Campaigns to see if they have anything out or in development on the battle but so far have gotten no response.

Anybody know if they do have something?  Seems like what's on the web is the same ole, just said a different way.  Plus I've found little on the German/Italian views.

I did find quite a bit of information over on the Wehrmacht Awards website on Italian uniforms and equipment:

Set at a higher scale (one stand represents a platoon) but there's a good scenario for Primasole Bridge in one of the old Command Decision,  Command Post updates. I could check which one if you like.

IIRC if they aren't still available at Frank's Test of Battle site, then they may be on Wargames Vault. If you really, really, wanted the scenario and get it otherwise  I could possibly scan my copy.

Please do Carlos, thanks!!!

I do have a copy (I found/downloaded online, may have even bought it/downloaded it, can't recall!) of "The Battle For Primosole Bridge" by Dan and Rex Withers from Valhalla Games. 110 pages long it is an excellent "book".

OK,

I'll try and dig it out and fire up the printer. Then I'll have to work out how to get you a copy.

Carlos, before you go to all that trouble let me do some more digging.  I plugged Test Of Battle Command Post Primosole Bridge into Google and a lot of stuff popped up that I haven't seen before.  If you do locate your copy just keep it close by! Thanks again!

I also have the Bolt Action book on the battle, so maybe I do have all I need.

Next step - more German paras.

I knew we would need more troops on the ground, so bought plenty of German paras from Grubby tanks.
Has.been kindly did a great job on them.

There was a German officer in shorts, that has.been mistakenly thought was British, but after a quick repaint, he swapped sides to be correctly dressed as a German.

The Academia site has some excellent free articles on the Crete campaign, including a very unusual look at the Greek Forces "involved".

Thanks for the tip off.
I’ll go take a look.
My idea for Greek forces, is to use Britannia Italian forces, as they have similar uniforms ?
Here are the first ones painted by Dave.

Great progress so far. I do like fallschirmjagers in the early uniform.

German para drop canisters.

As the paras only dropped with pistols, their other weapons needed to be dropped in, in canisters.

I’ve found a source via the interwed, so here we go.

Good stuff!!!

You got me wondering just how effective these canisters were so I'm doing some searching.  First up was this website showing a lot of detail about the canisters:

https://www.fallschirmjager.net/Vehicles/DropCanister/index.html

I know I would not want to be dropped into a strange place, under fire, and have to look for my weapons, ammo, etc, especially in windy conditions.
