Otherworld miniatures, do they live on?
« on: November 10, 2024, 02:28:45 PM »
Wondering if anyone has picked up this range?

I regret missing out on several of their miniatures

Particularly these early kobolds

I know some sculpts have surfaced at Crooked Dice, but whether that means they took over the entire range, or just some choice minis, I do not know...
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Some are also now at Dragon Bait miniatures, but I don’t see the Kobolds in question on their site.

Some of the sculpts are with Badger Games, don't see the Kobolds though:

Thanks, I thought some of them carried old stock, it's good to see some of them atleast are living on.

Their shop is still up, and showing the kobolds. Are you sure they're gone?

That's unfortunate  :(

I bought a bunch of stuff from them in April, sounds like I just snuck in under the wire

Fenris Games have picked up some of the Otherworld Miniatures; the pig-faced orcs for sure, though I don't know what else. Looks like they're planning to get them on sale before Christmas:

Fenris Games are good folk.

Fenris is indeed good folk (and a good dog), but I could have sworn Crooked Dice got the pig faced orcs? I know they have the ogres.

Maybe they've each got some of the piggy orcs? Fenris' post announcing it has a picture of one of the pig-faced orcs on a boar.

Crooked Dice already have some more GW-style orcs in their fantasy range. Maybe they passed up the pig-faced ones because they already have those.

Hopefully, it won't be too long before we know.

To be fair, the Otherworld range was tricky to keep tabs on even when it was a going concern. There were code changes, web shop reorganisations replacement sculpts etc. Various bits and bobs were sold off from time to time and ended up with other manufacturers. For example, the 1st generation Kev Adams (KA) Bugbears went to Dark Fable Miniatures before later being folded into the Dragon Bait range. Same goes for the KA cultists which DFM added to. The Otherworld Giant and 2nd generation Ogres were taken on by Crooked Dice. Who knows what happened to the original KA chicken-feet Ogres.

Maybe we need a 'Where have all the Otherworlds gone?' thread as there seems to be a fair amount of interest in the range.

I'd be happy to see this.

Richard did say on facebook that he'd post where everything had gone but that doesn't seem to have happened.

Shame, as I always wamted the Demon Idol set and might actually have time now to paint it...
