So, I already had the Musket Miniature's 15 mm Rorke's Drift set above so I didn't need an another one - a nice set. Of course, I don't really have any interest in building a Zulu War collection (not anymore) but I can use the buildings for my East Africa gaming.
But I don't have a
tembe Boma - and I want one.
I was at VetCon - a three day gaming convention this weekend in Auburn, California - and I kept looking at a pair of 15 mm Hovels' Rorke's Drift buildings, store and hospital. I looked a few times on Friday, I looked more times on Saturday wondering what I would do with them. Then, after getting home Saturday (close enough to drive each day), I realized I can see about converting them to a
tembe Boma.
So, taking a look at the photos below, opinions on how to convert to a
tembe Boma? And, yes, be a bit of a
tembe Boma 'on steroids' but I'm okay with that. I'm figuring block off the one side of the one building and then build walls at each end with gates - maybe need to block out a door or two. Here are the pics:
Top down view.
This side to block off (?). Or maybe the one below a couple pics?
The far side of the other building good to go. May have to flip your brain upside down to view.
The "L" shape a little different but, again, I can live with that, maybe incorporate into the end wall.
The other side for the inner element.
End on view - elements to block. Or maybe build the wall so the ends are enclosed?
And the other end.
Again, like to hear from others how workable this will be. And keep in mind my 'world' for East Africa is fictional, only loosely based on history - and then twisted and turned a bit (nothing fantastical, just different).
Thanks!
Tembe versus Boma? Lack of adequate sleep!
