Honestly, I do personally regret the way GW have gone with the games and figures but I think it is a valid and reasonable economic choice for the company to take. On the other hand, I'm not too taken with the Grimdark feel and have chosen to do other things. I do apologise unreservedly if my comments have ruffled feathers but it was meant more as a valid criticism rather than a personal attack.

40k is a great game/world yet not lacking serious flaws, undiscerning fanboys ("all aboard the bandwagon") and undiscerning haters ("I hate the popular thing, look ma, Im special") are equally annoying.
But now lets go back to Trench Crusade :)

With the Holiday and 48 hours of work this weekend, I didn't get too much painting finished but today I managed to get a trench medic done.

I'm thinking of possibly doing a Polish themed force for the game once I get past painting the official models they have and see how the game works and get some nice rules together for them.  Probably base it on New Antioch but we'll see.

This model is from Warcrow and hasn't been modified at all.  I like the figs from that game and will be finishing up the human force from that over the next couple of weeks anyway, so I thought I'd work this to be useful in both games.

I like it, every fantasy medic needs a plague doctor mask.
The great thing in alternative ww1 is that you can use most steampunk and VSF figures too.

Working on some more Heretics this week.  Just got them sprayed today.

I found this guy to use in TC.  Not sure if he'll be a substitute Warwolf or something else.

It is just a cool model.  I used him as a Chaos chosen of Slaanesh for a long time and I've even used him as a Horus clone in Scouring games of 40K.

He looks a little more at home in TC though.

I noticed with a small amount of amusement that Wargames Emporium are doing a special deal on figure sprues specifically for kitbashing figures for Trench Crusade. I can't help feeling they're stepping on my AWT figure kitbashing toes!  lol

Cool, that helmet ornament is not the most practical thing in a trench though.

Rule of cool trumps practicality every time. :D

"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Some of the original Infinity Ariadna Tank Hunters would work well too.

I got a pretty good start on my Black Grail warband.  I still have two of the Corpse Guard to base but they are painted and one more of the thralls is almost finished as well, but here is what is all finished so far.

All of the lads and puppies:

The Lord of Tumours

The thralls

Plague Hounds

And the Plague knight

Overall I really like the figures.  The Lord of Tumours is just something else.  A viler looking image it is hard to imagine.  The Corpse Guard are great.  I think the Plague Knight might be my favorite and I hope there is another version of that released in the future.

The Plague Hounds are the best evil dogs I've ever seen.  They just look so sinister.

The only place this warband falls down at all is with the Thralls.  Two of them aren't bad but the other two are fairly uninspired I think.  The idea of the flies piloting the guys is neat but works better in the art than in the model.  That figure looks a little cartoonish.
