OK now that I've made more than 10 posts, I think this is a nice place to stay with lot's of people who do the same weird things like me 8) .

I'm a very passionate wargamer, liking to try out new games just for some rules component or cool minis. I also like collecting minis just for the sake of it. Searching for some scenery for rolplaying games I bought some 1/48 planes and ended up with collecting US military of all era in that scale now.

Unfortunatly I'm the only one with that mindset in let's guess... at least a 100 KM radius, so I'm usually considered a harmless looney by the wargamers in my home town.

My main interests in roleplaying are Sword and Sorcery and Cyberpunk, on which I also focus my wargaming, but recently I bought the LotOW rules and could convince some gamers around here to give it a try. I also like Pulp adventures, CoC and alternate realities with hidden mysteries (like WOD and the Night Watch tetralogy).

I usually dislike alternate timelines like steampunk or Gear Krieg and WW II wargames and the "Same War different Time" settings (like WH40K and AT43).

The only mini games I actively play at the moment are Infinity and LotOW, but I keep buying "useless" minis from WestWind, Copplestone and Hasslefree. I also tend to end up buying almost every elf sculpted by Werner Klocke or equine by Sandra Garrity.
Far less active than I used to...

Hi all,

Just a quick first post to introduce myself and avoid the embarrassment of being deleted as a spambot.

I'm a long time wargamer returning to the hobby after a few years off (been playing eve-online MMOG)

Have always been interested in Darkest Africa and VSF and this forum has given me the incentive to get back at it.

Currently painting up my first few units of 28mm figs and vehicles - I'll post some piccies once they're done.

Bonjour all,

I've been lurking for a while, so I suppose it's time I joined up. I'm more or less a newcomer to miniature wargaming (for the moment I've only played WWI skirmishing in 20mm) so I hope I won't bore you with any newbie-related questions I might ask.

Hi Ian,

ask anything you want and you're sure to get a load of replies!

I'm sure Plynkes, for example, will be delighted to chat about WW1 gaming....

You won't find a friendlier or more knowledgeable group  :)

Cheers,
another Ian

I've actually tried to do that; however, my Internet Browser complete with PC spell check seems to be undoing all of my hard work.

Ich stoppe zu versuchen!

Hi All,

I've dabbled with miniatures for several years, mainly Warhammer, but have recently become interested in skirmish games.  My son particularly likes those types of games, especially any with big guns (what can I say; he is 15).  Any ideas for modern gothic (i.e. vampires, werewolves, etc) games?

TIA

Tracy

Welcome Tracy, There are quite a few games out there for horror, the best thing to do is have a look through this Horror forum it has lots of nice ideas and a lot of us LAF member are on there.

Occult Wars is the best for generating skirmishes and covering all manner of horror games.  Anyway have a look here
