With the upcoming Italy campaign I figured that the Austrians would be heavily involved in what they consider "their" previous territory.
To add a little colour to the predominantly white uniform of the Austrian mini's, I'd like to include an Austrian rifleman ( Jaeger blueish Grey and bright green!) North Star doesn't have one in its range but I just ordered some lovely Piano Wargames Jaegers.
Let me see if I got the rules right. For an additional 8 points I could introduce an Austrian Jaeger?

Yes, as written it's +8 points for characters not in your nationality's list.
 
However that is a very exorbitant cost.  I just allow riflemen for Austria and Bavaria at normal cost because they had them.  This does not unbalance the game in any way.

That seems reasonable to me. Its supposed to be fun and flexible
