Project Swedes for the late TYW and "The Deluge" in 15mm
« on: December 21, 2024, 09:27:04 AM »
We just startet an new project within our club "Weiss-Blaue Strategen" - the late Thirty Years War and the "Deluge" in 15mm.
Using the new v2 of "By Fire and Sword" we were able to play our first skirmish fights.

I´ve chosen the Swedish part, so here are my Colonel, a unit of Dragoons and "Mercenary Reiters".

More pics can be found on my Blog at:

My Swedish force so far with much more to follow:

Utgaard, thanks. Looks very nice. I've thought about gaming the Deluge for several years but held off as (a) the v2 "By Fire and Sword"  rulebook was being talked about and (b) the figures were difficult to locate in UK. I was in Poland back in early October and visited a game shop in Poznan. They told me the rules were hopefully to be released before Christmas, so I guess they now are. I'll try to track them down and the figures.

15mm Pike & Shot; Swedish National Infantry unit for „By Fire and Sword“ done.
They will even have to serve me a Dragooned Musketeers, so my Swedish Field Skirmish Force is complete. Next will be artillery and a Major to complete the Field Garrison Force too.

At the same time, each row counts as a separate unit for the ‘Twilight of Divine Right’ rules, which we want to test soon.

All Totentanz Miniatures.

Utgaard, again very nice.  You've just inspired me to check out "By Fire and Sword" again and I see someone in UK is stocking it.  However at nearly £1 fora 15mm infantry figure and nearly £2 for a cavalryman I will be looking at a different scale/manufacturer. I will have to revisit 10mm or even 6mm albeit the ranges of neither Pendraken of Baccus are complete.

You can use whatever manufacturer you like - I have a mix of original Wargamer.pl (old starter box from the 1st edition) and Totentanz Miniatures, but there are Essex and many others too.

Utgaard, having checked various websites last night I may opt for Baccus 6mm.  They produce ECW/TYW and Poles and Ottomans. I didn't think they did Poles and Ottomans but found them lurking in the "early 18th century" section of the catalogue.
