Midgard: Battle of Wakefield
« on: January 01, 2025, 05:29:11 PM »
James, Chris and I recently played a version of the Battle of Wakefield, heavily indebted to the scenario from Etic the Shed.

Although the chroniclers don't mention snow, it was December and Oop North, so we gave the wintry mat a run out.

An arrow storm heralded the start of the battle as the lines closed

York attempted to fight his way clear

But Roos' cavalry cut off young Rutland's escape

You can read a report and see more pictures on my blog:

If you prefer a video, handily I've done that too!

Beautiful stuff. I have heard very good things about Midgard, I will have to watch your video and read a few of the reviews in my wargaming magazines.

Enjoyed the video. It’s a useful way to see how the rules play out.
