Voivod's dungeon collection.
« on: January 10, 2025, 03:09:14 PM »
It's been long coming that I start a proper dungeons collection. I've always wanted a good ammount of standard/dnd fantasy monsters. A few years back I backed Lasting tales in hopes of getting my collection, well, kickstarted.
Unfortunatly that's one of the kickstarters that didn't deliver and I'm currently looking into getting a decent printed version of the rules pdf I did receive. I still want to play the game, though, and I recently purchased a copy of League of Dungeoneers from the second hand market. Dungeon crawlers are THE type of game that get me going ever since "you know what game" as a kid.
So I've decided to print of some stuff and start painting.
I offcourse have some stuff already, orks, goblins, skelly's. I may need some archers or shaman done.

To start of I printed some bitey boxes. Mimics are probably my favourite monster. They're just such a dumb concept. I bloody love them. So I found these stl by artisan guild and they're fantastic. Painted them up in two days, giving me good start for this year

I also painted up some elementals, as they are a staple of the fantasy monsters and should get me some more models done retalively quickly. But since the water and fire elemental won't look proper with drybrushing, these took me longer than expected. Just water for now.

Excellent painting again and a great start of the year!

I loved smacking down those Luggage wannabees in the dungeon earlier this week  :D

I loved your reaction when I plunked it on the table. So many years and never facing one was a gross injustice, finally corrected.

Nice work.

Mimics are probably my favourite monster. They're just such a dumb concept. I bloody love them.

Our party walked into a tavern and the barkeep asked 'Why do you adventures always come into the tavern with so many weapons?' So we said 'Mimics.' The barkeep laughed, we laughed, the table laughed, we killed the table.

That's a very nice start !

I played Lasting Tales a bit, using the pdf. I didn't tried a dungeon adventure though. The ruleset is really cool.

Elementally, my dear Watson.
To accompany the water elemental I did his companions.
Printed all of these of at 130% to make them a bit more impressive and I think I made the right move.
It cerntainly helped to get a good start of the years, as I am currenty finishing model 10 and I tend to give myself a 100model/year goal.

Earth was mostly simple drybrushes. He had som hard to reach places. I decidec some lichen-effects and a glow from his face to make him a bit more interesting

Air was a bit boring. The lighting help make it a bit more interesting, but he was fast

Than the fire nation attacked. My usual way to paint fire is wet blending with inks, but there where to many nooks ans crannies for this to work, so he took some patience. I like him the best though. Although the water elemental in my last post is a good second

You really are in your element painting these, aren't you?

They all look great and not a little intimidating to face in the future. My favourite is the fire one as well 8)

Great work! I like the fire elemental a lot.

Air elemental models are often a bit boring, so quite hard to lift with the paint job.
