Sarissa Precision's European Town Set in 15mm
« on: January 13, 2025, 08:44:01 PM »
I am continuing to expand my collection of 15mm structures for our Napoleonic games by adding Sarissa Precision's European Town set (link).

There are 5 buildings in the set, including a coupe of larger rural buildings.

More pictures on my blog: link.

Wow! Codsticker you’ve taken what seemed like pretty basic mdf buildings (looking at their website pics) and made them beautiful and (dare I use the term when talking about toys) realistic - and there’s me not being brave enough to try and pretty up my already serviceable 4ground ones  lol

I love the way you mask the notches and such that Sarissa Precision makes them with!  :-*

The way these kits go together the MDF tabs work into the structures quite naturally.

Excellent work how did you get the texture on the walls.

Excellent work how did you get the texture on the walls.

I glued grout down between the timber framing.

Tedious given the small size of the buildings but worth it in the end I think.

Love those, and your approach to basing as well. The 'Basing Accessories' buildings post on your page was also excellent. I think I'll be ordering some of those after seeing what you did with them.

Could you maybe let us know how you painted them up, especially the roofs and the weathering along the plaster walls?

Terrific work, with thanks for sharing.

Fantastic painting on these.  The extra touches really improve their look.

They look great, I initially thought the pictures were manufacturers glamour shots.

These are so well done. The church is especially good.

Thank you everyone for the kind remarks.

For the roofs I laid down a base coat of Army Painter Fur Brown and then picked out individual tiles with Green Stuff World Firethorn Brown, Vallejo Heavy Sienna (I think....) and the light tiles were Green Stuff World Golden Brown (I think...). Then a very light dry brush with a light tan and a wash of Army Painter Soft Tone. The streaks are slightly thinned GW Garaghak's Sewer drawn down from the ridge. The walls were base coated with GW Morghast Bone, dry brushed with Vallejo Bone White and then I ran a little line of Garaghak's sewer along the bottom and pulled it up with a second brush. The church walls had the same effect but the they were basecoated with AK Interactive White Grey and dry brushed with AK Off White.
