Anyone playing the AWI using One Hour Wargames?
« on: January 24, 2025, 12:18:16 AM »
I am looking at getting a few AWI 15mm figures (Essex going by the samples I have) and learn a little about the period and people but was wondering if anyone is using the OHW rules by Neil Thomas?

The main questions are - what period are you using and have you made any changes???

A secondary question is - can you recommend any history / troop uniform books? I do have an 'overview' history book coming via the library but they had a choice of one so it was not hard to pick...

I did it a while back using my old 1/72 plastics.

I just used the Horse and Musket chapter rules as written.

It was good fun.

It's been a little while, but I used those rules for The Plains of Abraham in Quebec in the French-Indian war.  They worked out OK.

For troop uniform books, try Ospreys' various Men-at-Arms books on the AWI - they have several.
