It's a beautiful reconstruction.

absolutely, and we didn't use the lift on purpose. Himeji is stunning but overused in films. I enjoyed Nijojo, but the really gem was Matsue Castle, if memory serves it's one of the best original castles in Japan.

I bought directly from 3D Alien Worlds' creator here in Japan (Aso Mill) but you can get the same buildings from these shops:

Thankyou!

Wow really incredible stuff here! I've been checking out the 3d alienworlds terrain for a while might need to pull the trigger on them.

With the tobacco stand did you scratchbuild it? It looks incredible!

That's one of my upcoming products, I'm sending a prototype off for casting soon. If everything goes smoothly I hope to have it for sale by next month.

I've not been to Matsue Castle but I want to; one of Koizumi Yakumo/Lafcadio Hearn's homes is nearby so its on my to-do list. My favorite original castles, besides Himeji, have been Matsumoto Castle and Matsuyama Castle. As much face time as Himeji gets, I think Matsuyama is even more idea for films as its a mountain top castle.

I really like the photos of the Sasebo naval base.  My favorites are the naval guards (SNLF?) and that awesome looking guard post.

SNLF personnel were drawn from ship's company, these would be sailors assigned to the Kaiheidan naval barracks.

Incidentally, I'm getting that guard post made in 1/56 for gaming. Here is a prototype used as a police box.

And here it is used as a guard post.
