There is an option to make the figures for 1915 in 28 mm
There is an option to make a group in winter uniform 30 mm for 1914-1915

I agree, making them to match Copplestone, STP and Great War who are all pretty similar is ideal as it allows us to mix and match lovely sculpts to get really varied units.

Russian infantry at the beginning of the war in winter uniform.
At the beginning of the war, not everyone had rifles. Rifles were issued only to marksmen. Then they began to be issued to everyone as a personal weapon.

Those who did not have rifles were somehow involved in the conduct of hostilities. Groups of grenade throwers were created (they tried to destroy barbed wire barriers with grenades), they were armed with tools to dismantle enemy fortifications.

Agreed. Its pretty wild to think that the Russian army did not have some older rifles that could be issued at the very least. As was done with Territorials and Landwehr troops. I suppose the state of the older rifles and lack of ammunition played a part. I wasn't aware of this aspect and find it baffling.
