LOTR batreps
« on: December 11, 2009, 11:23:19 PM »
Here's a couple of batreps off a friend of mine's site. I ran some lotr games for him and his buddies a few years back. I really should do that again as they were quite a bit of fun. I had originally included these in another thread but decided to throw them out there on their own.
Enjoy!

It wasn't sufficiently accurate. The pipe was on the wrong side.

I had assumed Sauron had sent forth a broil of fume.  >:D

Which would explain why the Numenoreans had such a hard go of it. Too busy coughing!  ;)

Lovely! I do relish a good LOTR scrap.

One of the few redeeming factors for GW, along with the Tau and the lovely VSF-ishness of some of the tanks.

The LOTR range is generally of superb quality and the rules themselves are excellent. Shame they are so bloody expensive when new  :(

I'm trying to get my son back into gaming after a fairly long break, so I think we'll have a quick game tomorrow. I'll be the Orcs and will no doubt get massacred by his Elves  lol

I do love the LOTR range, but I haven't bought any figures new from GW. Lots of kids got into the game as the films came out, got bored and now you see the minis on Ebay, sold by parents! I'm building up a fairly good collection for wargaming and the display cabinet using Ebay.

I love it also. Especially the initial wave of models released, all of which were sculpted by the Perrys. The metal armored goblins are particular favorites of mine and, of course, the valiant men of Numenor (or "Newfenor" as I sometimes call it) lol

Later expansions to the range had noticable scale creep issues (Haldir's elves released as part of the TT range, while gorgeous sculpts, dwarf the Noldorim from the 'Fellowship range). The recent Dunlendings are brilliant but again they're markedly larger than the Rohirrim and men of Minas Tirith. I do really love the Dwarf models though. One of the best fantasy Dwarf ranges out there IMO. Very well proportioned.

I agree. Lovely game, nice story and I, too, like the earlier models better than latter ones.

Great battle reports! Would you mind if I post the links in a Spanish forum?

I wouldn't mind but as they're on my friend's site I really should ask him (for form's sake if nothing else). ::) I really can't see him objecting. I'll PM you later on.
