Nice terrain and thanks for the rules.   :D

Thanks a lot guys!

It's finally time for an update - I've finished all my ACW stuff for now, I've got two skirmish-sized forces and we've played a couple of fun games (stay tuned for photos as well as scenery shots). Army shots will follow as well. But first off I'm going to showcase all the finished minis.

Let's start with some Confederate infantry. These guys are straight out of the box Perry ones. I've only added new muzzles to the ones who had bayonets as well as a blanket (made out of Green Stuff) to one of the reloading ones:

I also converted another Confederate infantry officer (using a head from one of the metal CSA command codes as well as the plastic ACW kit) and another drummer - using a youthful looking head from the metal dismounted CSA infantry code as well as a couple of arms from the plastic British Sudan kit:

Let's break things up a bit with some Blue! Dismounted Union cavalry, Perry ones - straight out of the box except the two hat wearing fellas which are two quick conversions using plastic heads from the ACW Cavalry kit and Union command sprue:

Really love the grimyness of your figures. Very realistic!

Thanks a lot - really appreciate it! My main inspiration is the paintings of Don Troiani, I really like the look of his work and I try my best to translate it on to my minis.

Speaking of dismounted Cavalry, here are some of the superb Perry CSA dismounted cavalry sculpts:

More - straight out of the box except a couple of heads swaps (figure 2 and 5):

CSA dismounted cavalry command from Perry (I ditched the standards so I'm using them as Sergeants instead):

Great miniatures. :-* :-* :-*

Don Troiani is certainly one of the best artists if not the best regarding ACW paintings.
Mort Kunstler is another great artist.

Thanks a lot - appreciate it!  I'll look up Kunstler - fitting name as well for an artist.  8)

Next up is some Union command figures - the flag bearers are converted using parts from the Union and Confederate plastic kits - I wanted them to carry their flags more "upward and straight" than my CSA figures so I modifed the arms using Green Stuff and some reposing and change of hands. Flags are GMB.

The drummer is a plastic body with a head from a metal drummer - I really didn't like the plastic head since the mold line ran across the middle of the face, really obscuring the detail.
