Build it in VSF style - a three-wheeled steam-powered conveyance*, driven by a grey-suited chauffeur with an African gentleman with a monacle and a giant top hat as a passenger - and I will love you forever.

*I humbly suggest that it should be a "Reliable" from the Robbins Works, rather than the other way around, because it sounds better. Possibly its full title should be the 'Automated Reliable Steam Engine'.

Just this weekend inspiration has struck again and I've picked up some GW Lizardmen Sarus for conversion into some ERB Martians. Also on the cards is a 28mm scale Nautilus, at about 1.3 Meters it'll be more of a terrain piece than anything else.

Hello all,

My Gaslight VSF plans are as follows:

Expand my Martian Tripod range to include martians, crashed cylinder and edwardian civilians. Official release of tripod in January 2010.

As for personal gaming

Play some more games using my Martian terrain and run the WOTW demo at Melbourne's little wars game day.

Brits are just about done for now. Just a couple of steam tanks and maybe some artillery.

Continue my Zambesi series of scenarios.

Start working on Venus terrain and a couple of "large" nefs for my club's open day.

Make a start on the next army..... Japanese.

Hat Guy has started an arab force and league of extraordinary gentlemen. I might have to put together a nautilus?? ahheh heh.

Merry Xmas all and happy gaming!

cheers
Fuzzy.
Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.

Hatguy,

I just saw your post about the nautilus. Happy to offer tips if you like.

Read the first LOEG book I borrowed from you. Great stuff!

cheers
Fuzzy

Thought you may appreciate them. It'll be a while before I can start the Nautilus, I have to get rid of my Necromunda tower first so I have the space. Also, I'll be basing it off the Jules Verne novel, so it won't have much in the way of armaments.

Me, I plan on finishing off a few touches on my Norwegian Forces, and perhaps start doing a British force, as well as a German force using those beautiful Seebataillon models. Other than that, finish painting my Martians, green and red.

And probably ten or twenty other projects that I just haven't remembered or come up with yet.

My plans are to finish off any odd ends on my British force, so it can be used more easy with the Gaslight rules and then I might try and put together a small French army, for skirmish, I already have some ideas of what I want to use, but no models yet.

I cannot look back other than to say I have had a copy of Aeronef for a few years gathering dust and a copy of Land Ironclads that I sold earlier on this year.

Since then I have seen the light (Gas powered obviously) and re-purchased LI in PDF form and a copy of the Land Ships rules from Avalon Games.  Between them they spurred me on to move into 2mm rules so 2010 becomes the year of Martian Invasion of the Humber.  Based in the area from Scunthorpe / Brigg / Grimsby and across the water to Hull I aim to:

1) Create a board showing the fictional layout
2) Create scenery to go on the board
3) Invade using the 2mm LI figures vs English defenders

Well the bug has most definately bitten, been holding off for a while now but I think it's about time i take the plunge...
Just ordered myself a copy of The Difference Engine for some inspiration, any thoughts on the novel would be welcome... and read some Burroughs (not strictly VSF but enjoyable never-the-less).

Atm I am more interested in the whole alternate-history than the off world colony/aeronef thing but I am open to anything really.

Now I've been eyeing up those Empress minis for quite some time now, but I think my first order will be with Ironclad, I love their home dress Brits which, if all goes well, may be supplemented with some of Eurekas skywalkers at a later date (if i don't go off on a wild tangent, which is quite probable!)

Paint some more of my yellow Martian legions (2 painted, 7 to go). Paint a unit of High Martians. Paint up some Red Martians, to go with my flyer. Build a few more walkers. And build an ether transport to get my Imperial Chinese to the Red planet to join all the "laborers" that have already go to Mars.
