Master of the World
« on: December 14, 2009, 09:37:13 AM »
For all you VSF fans in the USA(I dont think you can get Hulu outside of the US)one of my favorite movies when I was a kid has been put up on HULU.com  Juiles Verns Master of the World with Vincent price and  Carles Bronson a bit outdated but well worth a watch, even if you watch it just to see the Airship Albatross.  Really a cool movie :)

I got that on DVD for last xmas. It is well worth a watch although it always makes me think Capt. Nemo in the air.

Uh Nice.

I had never heard of it. But there's got to be a host of Jules Verne films out there.

unfortunately, the movie copies the concept of "20000 leagues ubder the sea" and the main plot of Verne's two books, instead of being a true filmic adaptation.

But nice to see and a good inspiration for VSF, allthough I recommend the books instead.

Saw a bit of this on TV - I love the airship 'Albatross' with its multiple banks of rotors. There's clearly much VSF inspirational stuff there...

The literary Robur and the literary Nemo had many similarities:

There's something so specially cool about airships though:

I've a friend who can't bring himself to rewatch.

Me, I still love it, though guilty pleasure. I suppose it's part that I first saw in a real drive-in theatre, in the wilds of Kansas, as a child. ;->=

I'll have to mention this to him; he's got Hulu, while I don't...
