mexican revolution miniatures
« on: December 23, 2009, 08:15:54 PM »
Hello

I consider the mexican revolution (pancho villa Vs huerta + maybe US intervention) as a future project.
I know that outpost and old glory have suitable range.

do you guys know other manufacturers? are outpost and old glory usable together? I've never seen them in the flesh...

thanks

The OG stuff is some of the best in their entire range. That contains all that you will need. Maybe a sprinkle of Foundry peons and some Dixon, Artizan and Britannia Mexicans on the top will conclude the story... ;)

I happened to see some of the OG stuff last night and they were some very nice sculpts.
I have a cunning plan... as cunning as a fox who's just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University.

Ah you poor wretch,
Another excuse to post the same old Mex-Rev photos.  Personally, I think the Federales are sculpted better than the Villistas, but the Villista cavalry is better than the Villista dismounted cavalry.  And they do have the correct ratio of fedoras to sombreros.

OG US cavalry from the 'Pershing In Mexico' line.

Carranza Regular, converted from Old Glory Spanish American War Spaniard.

Old Glory Federale, in the Huerta/khaki uniform

Old Glory Boxer Rebellion Japanese infantry converted to Federale dismounted cavalry

Copplestone Warlord Chinese, with long trousers added

Artizan W.W.I French Chasseur, with long trousers added.

Artizan, I think, White Russian officer, in different colored uniform.

Artizan & Copplestone figures, on decorative CD terrain.

Those Japanese, Chinese, French and Russian figures look great  :o

I'd never have thought to use any of them as Mexicans.

I'd love to do this period, especially Patton's first-ever automobile "charge"  8)

Maybe after Malamute has bled me dry for his Zorro/Alamo range. At least I'll have all the terrain ready lol
