Snow-cats, snowmobiles, skidoos etc

I have seen a couple of 1/46 - 1/56 scratch projects of snowmobiles in the past but does anyone know of a manufacturer of any decent extreme (polar) weather transportation equipment from the 40's to the present?

I can find lots of planes (Northrop Gamma, helicopters etc) and I can fake the ships (such as the Wyatt Earp) but I can't find anything easily available that doesn't involve massive rebuilding.

You might get a better response posting this in the Back Of Beyond, Pulp or Future Wars boards, as it's probably not all that "Colonial"

Thanks all. I'd forgotten the Copplestone Tuckers. I had to have two in case one breaks down. Or falls in.

I take your point about "colonial", G Max. I was looking at the descriptor "20th Century exploration" and, knowing that Antarctica is at constant risk of exploitation from a bizarre concatenation of international powers (not excluding my own), figured that it was just as much a "colonial" target as anything with spears and tropical fruit.

I suppose it's one of those odd subjects without an obvious "home". No reason why it shouldn't be in colonial, as the "land grab" aspect definitely has a strong colonial theme similar to the "Scramble For Arica". I'm just one of those sad Victorian throwbacks who immediately thinks of stiff upper lips, warlike natives, tea and tropical sun

My current favourite is Blackwood's. It's from the Hebrides. Almost impossible to get in Australia now. Second is Plymouth Navy Strength (overproof). Takes you out of yourself and puts you down in a very wonderful place.

Ah gin, the drink of choice for any self-respecting failed colonialist.

Well observed Drunkendwarf, but my two Copplestone Tucker Sno-Cats arrived today and I am a happy man.

Skidoos et al shall be in the mix.

It's my birthday today and I have spent the day with my wonderful wife who approves of my hobby and my eccentricities. May all of us be so fortunate with our partners.
