Miniatures for "Shout at the Devil"
« on: January 13, 2010, 09:32:30 PM »
Inspired by another post regarding the evil Fleischer from the movie "Shout at the Devil" I decided to paint up the main characters from the movie. I think I have found suitable miniaturers for O´Flynn and Bassie but I still lack a bareheaded girl with long hair in trousers and shirt armed with a rifle. Any suggestions?

Here's mine, though I admit only Flynn is a match for the actor.

In the book Mohammed is a tough ex-soldier, a former NCO of the Schutztruppe who deserted (something to do with stolen money or booze, I forget which), so I didn't think an Ian Holm lookalike was for me, as he doesn't really look much like an askari. My Roger Moore has a moustache, because by my reckoning in 1913 someone like Roger Moore would have a moustache.

This Copplestone figure was my choice for Rosa (don't have a picture of my own handy):

Though she doesn't have a rifle.

Brigade Games has a figure that I think would do the job I can't remember the catalouge but its advertised as Evie from the "Mummy" movies.

As Leaps says, Evy, from Brigade:

She's in the 28mm adventurers line.

excellent brushwork Plynkes!!
and Miss "see-through" blouse too, Mancha  :-*

I used to be and still am a fan of Sir Roger, but I never got over the fact how effeminate he used to look when (and if) he performed fight scenes  ;)
I mean, look at the BW still where he whacks Lee Marvin.... like peforming a ballet routine :D lol
and this man was James Bond  ;)

How about the centre figure from Shadowforge ? I'm not sure if the dress is too short and she has a Winchester which may be a problem.

Great suggestions!

I hoped there would be others that were fond of that movie  ;)

My Flynn is the same as your but for "Bassie" I choose the second from the left from Redoubt Boxer Civilians:

(he doen´t have a moustache...). The Brigade gal looks spot on. Many thanks!
