Project X Vril powered Supersoldier
« on: January 22, 2010, 07:21:12 PM »
Something different for a change...
;-)
After painting so much 15mm minis is was about time for something bigger. I also played Wolfenstein recently and picked up an abandoned conversion project: The Vril power armour Nazi trooper!
The basic mini is from Project X; “Upgraded” with a Darkson design head, GW Space Marine arms and a Bolt Action Miniatures MG 42.

Oberleutnant Von Awesome!

Did you add stuff to the back of the armour - it looks like he's got a backpack of sorts? And is the eyes' glow photoshopped (as you took the swastika out), or did you do a source lighting on those?

Thanks!  :-)
The "backpack" is on the mini.
For me it the MkIII cooling sink of the Vril power source...

I did not liked the Zombie look and started the conversion.

The eyes are in no way "photoshopped" just good old school painting...

I had hoped so, but the glow looks so realistic... I am ashamed now for doubting your painting prowess in the first place, though.

Awesome piece of work. Like the others, the top notch job on the lenses immediately caught my attention. The head swap works well too, really fits. Thanks for sharing, always a pleasure to see something new from you, but especially something WWWII.
