Toy Train repaints
« on: January 23, 2010, 06:45:37 PM »
I managed to get my hand on one of the toys r us toy trains, and I'd like to repaint it. I found some old posts here that I guess had pics of train repaints but the images are all expired. Anyone know where I can find some pics of repaints people have done for inspiration?  Any tips would also be appreciated...

Many thanks!

Steve

There's actually a whole section for Railroad Adventures down the bottom before the Workshop. Have you checked there?

Wow!  Much better than I could ever hope to accomplish. How did you open it up like that to do the interior?

It was hard  :o the glue they used was reallllllllll super glue it took a lot of cutting and prying, just watch you don't cut your fingers off.  The rest was covered with plastic card to turn it from a passenger car to a mail car.  One of my on going projects that I do need to finish.

That's probably out of my league. I wonder if I could sneak one of the Dixon passenger cars in there somehow...

What does this train look like?  Is it still available from ToysRUs?  Do you have a pic of the box?  Thanks for any help you can provide.

It's the battery powered Western Express. I got mine today. It looks perfect with 28mm figs and it's dirt cheap on eBay. Just do a search.
