Very nice, I love the way you modified the tyranids into more bug-like beings, makes em very characterful :)

I guess the scale would be 28 going on 30.

28mm heroic at the very least, they're big and tall. The female figures are nice an petite, however. I still have some of mine running around somewhere.

You seem to be lacking the lieutenant "forward men" pose in that lot though.

Oh man those huge pus-yellow eyes remind me of a nightmare I had when I was eight or so. They look great.

Great conversions on the 'nids, especially the termagants look nice and insect-like. You could use some of the old style tyranid warriors with the ant-like bodies with them 8)

I agree. They look sooooo much better with the simple addition of buggy eyes! Who'd have thought it?  :o

You could always even it out by getting some of those exo suits that I haven't got.  lol

Awesome, How did you do the eyes and antennae?  Just green stuff for the eyes or a simpler expedient?
This is my boomstick!

Yes, just good ole green stuff.

The antennae are simple wire with drops of PVA glue at the ends. The glue dries to a round finish.

Just ordered these reinforcements for my bugs.

The one is a tank and the other is an APC.

My take on the bugs is tongue in cheek, meaning that I want them to look silly... on purpose! I thought these tanks would do a quality job of sprinkling some humour over it all.  lol

So apparently they're evil alien bugs... with some degree of intelligence. Now I just have to figure out how to do the Crossfire rules for them

I got an unexpected day off today. And promptly decided to use it for miniatures:

Alien platoon leader. I'm a bit ambigious about whether to "do the eyes" or not.
I think the old GW tyranids has lots of humour already.

Soon 6 alien squads are ready.

I also ordered some armorcast terrain for the project.

Nice LOS blocking piece.

"Before and after"-terrain.

Of course one could use both the before and after piece at the same time... I just like having the option to blow stuff up.

A cool looking project.  I am looking forward to seeing what you do with those resin bug tanks.  I have had my eye on them for aaages but I have never seen them painted or in comparison with a 28mm fig.

I cant wait to see what you do with them  8)

Incidentally, if I were you I would "bug-eye" the Tyranid warrior too.  I would also add antennae: they really add to the look of your figures.)

Thank you very much.

I'll have to credit Paul "Matakishi" for the idea. I think the terrain will be quite different though.

I'm also leaning towards "eyeing" the warrior. It is difficult though.. the model being all rare and mint. The idea is kind of that the warrior is the "real" species that sends forth all the other critters.
