I've been working on a Wired War II campaign involving sky pirates.  Here's a P-51 C I painted up for the campaign.

Excellent! I love the paint scheme for it.

Nice idea to use the IK-Character as pilot.

Video Game. The Crimson Skies PC game was a particular favourite of mine, especially the missions involving Zeppelins.

Didn't know there were novels. If, as I suspect, they are tie-in novelisations made by the game company (rather than a series of books that inspired the games) I would never read them anyway. I'm a terrible snob when it comes to things like that.

Here's a better shot of him.  His helmet and goggles I sculpted from green stuff.

there were a number of novelettes tied-in to the original game, published under the title of "Amazing Air Stories" (or something like that). They tried to be pulp and only got camp - the game stuff was far superior, and don´t get me started on the PC game books. Even worse, imho.

The PC game, though, was awesome - once I got a joypad, that is, although some of the missions leave you at hair´s edge - I absolutely HATE the one with the autogyro dogfight/stunt flight in Colorado. But the showdown over Broadway is just genius. Nothing better than to build a "Schlachtflieger Firebrand" and go in with torpedos and a supercharged engine. :D

"Ta-taa, Teabag!" "Noooo! Not agaaaain!"

"Wenn du unten ankommst, sag ihnen, dass Nathan Zachary dich schickt!"

@topic:

Very, very lovely model. Makes me want to buy a cheapish F-4U and paint it in that lovely "Fortune Hunters" scheme.

lovely job!

I picked up a whole bunch of pre-painted small scaled crimson skys from wizkids at a very cheap price.  No idea what to do with them though.  I'm certain one day they will come in use!

That's very nicely done! Very scurvy looking pilot to boot.

I've played Crimson Skies on the tabletop, which led the group of us to publicly wonder why we didn't just keep playing Battletech instead.

Nice paintjob mate, where did u get the big skulls?

Me and a mate of mine have been playing the minaitures version on and off, and he even did a 1/72 Spitfire in one of the teams colours. Actually, the Bf-105 I'm building at the moment is a design by another friend of mine who makes his own designs in 1/200 miniatures.

Rich setting, loads of idea's, ideal for Pulp :)

I drew up a design.  Made a stencil of the outline then I painted them on.  This plane actually inspired a campaign I'm working on which will involve lots of aircraft and will start between the war.

First off: Wow, great plane! Awesome paintjob.
Creative use of the IK character as well.

Being the mate in question I'm sad to report that that spitfire is no more, it didn't survive the most recent move in an airworthy state.  :?
It's still in the stockpile to do something with someday though, perhaps a wreck, once I get my other 1/72 Crimson Skies planes up and running.
(I've got a Brigand effectively ready for paint, and a Devastator in progress. I'm not too happy about the Dev' though..)

Bye, Erik
