Would there be any interest in 28mm 19thC Khivans..?
« on: January 28, 2010, 09:24:40 PM »
I am interested to know if there would be any interest in a range of 28mm Khivans that could be used for the campaigns with Russia and general Great Game adventures..?

Thanks,

Geoff

Depending on price, size of range, and sculpts, perhaps.

I'd be interested, to the tune of about 40 to 50 figures.  Would these be from Outpost Wargames?  I'm quite pleased with the RTW Russkis, so I'd jump on Khivans or other Central Asians if available.

I am currently exploring a trial figure and will post details of it once I have seen the green, to see what you all think. I believe that Askari will be producing some Bokharans as they have have a senior officer already listed on their web site.

The field of Central Asia is a goldmine for gamers historical, pulp or the like and it needs supporting if we are to see the right figures. One can make do with armys made up of Afghans, Mongols and tartars robbed from various ranges but many of the combatants were unique in their own right and need true representation.

Askari with their Summer dressed Russians and Outpost with their 1877/1878 Russians in early field dress lead the way in expanding the area of The Great Game and provide the natives with an alternative opponent other than the usual British.

Tashkent, Samarkand and Khiva here we come!

Cheers,

Geoff

I would be interested, I read Hopkirks The Great Game last year and enjoyed it immensely.
