[Fantasy] The "Gor" Effect (Update 19th Dec 2011)
« on: February 13, 2010, 12:58:37 PM »
Finally I managed to base some miniatures that were painted already a few months ago. These will appear in future skirmish to full scale battles inspired by both Greek mythology and the Warhammer universe. Read the full story (so far) on my blog. Visitors and comments always welcome! :)
No more yackety-yak, just the pics for you:

These skin & hair, they are perfect !
But strangely, it's the bronze effect I like the least...

Wonderful face on that mini. I've always considered getting some Foundry Greeks and doing some sort of Harryhausen type adventures. This makes it even that much more motivating.

What's the trick to your bronze painting?  It's turned out perfect.

Many thanks, dear fellows. :)

bc99, there's really no trick. For convenience, here's my recipe: I cover the shield surface with Foundry Burning Gold 44A (a copper tone), then I apply Vallejo Sepia Shade Wash (a dark brown). After that I paint in patches of Foundry Teal Blue 24A (any turquoise will do) and mix in some liquid white to represent areas, where the verdigis is still 'growing' (especially in cracks and scratches). Finally, I add dots of Foundry Burning Gold 44B (bright gold) so that it looks like metal that has been hammered onto the wooden shield corpus. Hope that helps.

Great painting.A very nice collection of miniatures. The shields are amazing.

When I saw the title I thought the subject was going to be the Gor fantasy books.

Bloody lovely but where is Tarl Cabot?  ;D I was expecting naked slave girls from the title. ;D

Shields are excellant. They're all excellant.
