1:56 Austin Putilov and Kegresse
« on: February 16, 2010, 06:45:45 AM »
I finally had some free time over the weekend, and managed to punch this out on Sunday:

Shot of it next to the 1:56 Rolls Royce

Just needing the rivets, Gun Side shields and details which will be applied and finished by the weekend.

I'm making the suspension bits to be cast in metal, and modular, so the same Resin hull will be used on both the armored car version, and the Halftrack.  I'll be going with the computer designed/rapid prototyped spoked wheels for this, as I'm also getting some parts done for the Gen11 "Chitty" car at the same time.

All in all, we should be fully ready for casting by end of the month, and this model will be available in the spring. NOw, I do also have a blank started for the earlier Austin, with the turrets side by side.  I can reuse the Putilov wheels... that of course if folks would like to see that model available as well.

Oh, and this is already casting:
  Should have kits very soon.

Update:  Added panels, Doors, hinges and other details.  Started the suspension (rear is done) and fit some Rolls Wheels for testing the wheel base.  I still need to make the turret MG guards, and I think I'll beef up the thickness of the turret armor by about .5mm

Rivets will be this weekend as well.

I'll work on the halftrack system tomorrow night.

Rivets done (mostly) and tracks system is complete.  The tracks themselves took me about 3 days.  Enough time to make a tank.  I made one track set, that is the same on both sides, so no issues with which track goes where.

The tracks are one piece, but there will be a separate gear/chain system, that will fit to the outward facing track section.  Like the track, this will be the same on both sides.  I have the gears done, but still need to make the chain link.

Assembly is quite easy.  I'm going to have the track sections and it's associated pieces be cast in metal
