Voted for the Vikings - somehow, that C.I.A. thing (while a fun idea) has had too much graphic post-production work thrown into it. Detracts from the figures, IMHO.

I sort of agree about the graphics in the first entry.  While amusing, the figures dont really need the back up as they are nicely painted in in a nice setting.

I voted CIA because of the painting anyway, sorry vikings :)

Hi calimero,
Tipp: The figures are good painted, but without any shading.
They "cry" for use a wash like Army Painter. You will be surprised by the result.  ;)

I've always liked calimero's paitning style - it always reminds me of cell shaded comics/video games...

@Westphalia Chris: I understant you opinion, perhaps you're right. I do this post production only because I take fun doing it. Nevermind if it's for the detriment of my painting  :)

@black bear: you can read, you'll be officer   lol

I voted for myself because I was afraid to have a 0 vote in total… lol

I agree that I need to work more on the details. I choose not to do it on these figures in particular because I wanted them to fit with a bunch of Vikings I’ve painted earlier. Anyhow, I seem to have some kind of "blockage" regarding the use of shading and highlight… I should talk to my therapist about it… lol

tsar1701 entry’s is very good btw.

As a general note though, this first round make me realise that I don’t really like most of the Barbarian figures. It have nothing to do with painting (there some very nice examples in this first round)… it just not "my thing" I guess. 8)
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

thanks Calimero  ;)

I agree with Fugazi, wash is fantastic you can make shadow without working.
I use this technic for figures I don't really like that are juste for playing.
