Flashman figures
« on: February 24, 2010, 08:17:39 PM »
Hi

Seeing the comments about Flashman figures in other posts, I guess many people are'nt aware that that Chiltern Miniatures do Flashman Figures in their  Victorian Range.

http://http://www.chilternminiatures.co.uk/online_shop/index.php?cPath=666_660&osCsid=a2e699aebc3ce31f83d512ed27a96d5c

The figures are based on the illustrations on the front of more recent paperback editions of the books, so the figure for the mutiny is Flashman in disguise as a native Sower

You get 4 figures too a pack, 2 varients if Flashman and two ladies

You shoud find them (inc pictures) via the above link, if I've messed it up just google Chiltern Mnatitures.

Andy

I have to say that I was a bit... well, disappointed is a harsh word, but it somehow deflated my enthusiasm when I saw them in the flesh at Vapnartak. I had actually wanted some to use for VSF games, but as Matakishi says, they are very big and rather chunky, not unlike how Flintloque figures scale up to 28mm Napoleonics.

That said, the sculpting is actually rather nice, and captures the book covers rather well. But unless you use them with stuff the size of the Great Wail War range, they'll probably look out ouf scale.

I think Chiltern will be at WMMS in March so I'll have a look then (not that I dont believe you chaps). Seems a shame about scale as they're lovely figs.

I ordered the Chiltern cultists and some Victorians a couple of years ago.  Was EXTREMELY disappointed by how big and chunky they are.

They almost went straight into the 'melt for fishing sinkers' bin, but still reside in my 'Maybe some fool will want them someday' and my 'Use as Joke Gifts' bins.

Sad but true. Nice for collecting but no good for 28mm games. I'm very liberal on the subject of mixing different figure sizes, but even I can't fit them in with my existing figures :(

Rudi's ideas for conversions are very good and if I ever find the time I will try them out  :)
