China 1860 opium wars

 anyone got a link or info on the french order of battle for the second opium war and fighting on Taku Forts

Good luck I haven't seen much, except maybe some rough numbers of men and what ships they came from. Some of the numbers don't even differentiate between sailors & marines.

a real gem of a website search the pdf list copy and paste into the search engine viola loads of stuff
SVENN the full british expeditionary list of regiments posted to china is in their also, there are thousands of lists

also this one is superb from the GWP site great for uniforms I just love these guys that do all this worth their weight in Gold

Does this suggest a forthcoming rannge suitable for 1860? Brits in undress serge frocks, airpipe helmets etc. That would have me very excited.

My current Mutiny stuff would do for parts of the 1860 army the first cavalry will be probyns horse so again could be used in China and we have plans for airpipe hilmet head swaps later on, all I need is some french and a million Chinese  lol lol lol lol lol lol

I have the figures for the Opium war. I had the opportunity to buy most of them before FOUNDRY stopped the range. I still need a few more british units. So, if you plan to produce them, you have at least one potential customer.

Here are afew pictures of what I have painted. Sorry for the awful gloss varnish who shines on pictures...

Osprey do a book on the Taiping Rebellion that includes some info on this period and Foundry do a book on Chinese Armies in the 19th century. There is a brief overview and a bibliography in The Colonial Wars Sourcebook.

I have plenty of Chinese. But I am just getting started on painting up some of the Europeans.
