Call for Weird West min run down and Ideas
« on: February 26, 2010, 01:28:33 PM »
Right I did have a plan for getting some made myself but  the cash saved for this was sucked from out of my money sock under the bed last year with repairs on the house .

However I still keep coming back to it.

So this is the range of things I have for a Deadlands esque thang. Any additoonal ideas are welcome

Historical Sutff

Foundry/Artizan and Black Scorpion western figures....

Horror etc
Wyrd minis
Reaper werewolf scout and Space Marshal
Teh chap with the 4 arms (think enigma minis)
Foundry zombies
Perry ACW conversions
Ironclad pinkerton chappies
Lots of Gangs of newyork form various Brigade, Artizan, WW, TVAG
Generic werewolves form Heresy, Reaper etc
Heresy mutant zombie things as skinwalkers.

I havent bothered with the Deadlands offical mins as had and sold them off as being too big at the time

So any other ideas for wild west inspired horror, pulp etc that may fit, thinking more along the lines of character figures or ghoulies rather than rank and file :D

Some of the later Deadlands figures fit in fine. 'The Cleaners' if you can get them are great figures and the unit leader has a gatling shotgun over one shoulder. The 'shotgun thug' is another great figure that's not too big. I should dig out the ones I have and check which are oversized and which aren't.
So many projects..... so little time.......

I would be interested to see them as I originally bought the rules for straight gunfights and didnt buy figures other than a Sawbones.

I have a few of the hordes figures which I think you have too which fit in quite well.

Hopefully by next year I should be allowed a bonus from work again which I can set aside a good wedge to get some figures sculpted.

Yep, I have some Warmachine and Hordes figures that fit in rather well. I also have the Outcasts you speak of. Not the Mariachi though, will have to go take a look at that.

Also worth keeping an eye out for is a figure from the Horrorclix starter set, no idea if it was available seperately or not but it was called a Lynch Gost. A transparent figure with a black hood and a noose hanging from his neck. A light wash gives it a bit more visible form. I've found a pic but it's not very big.

Are you at the game tomorrow by any chance? I could bring the Deadlands figs down for you to take a look at.

Edit: Evidently the picture was better than it looked on the other website.

"Copplestone Wasteland Desperadoes" is the pack with the zombie gunslinger.  It has a vaguely wolfman like marshal, a wacky looking bare chested doctor in a top hat and a grizzled post-apoc kid in a bunny suit.  Its a great pack of figures, even in the context of how good Copplestone figures always are.

Have you seen the Wyrd Miniatures for Malifaux?

The have some Death Marshals that look like they are the sort of thing that you are looking for (i reckon that they look pretty cool):

Lowtardog will be at the game - he's bringing his Aztecs for use as targets Atlanteans.

@ Dewbakuk - I would be interested in seeing what you have too. I'm alooking to add some Wierd West stuff to my Americans, as men of the New England Mining Co. (armed guards and steamtech in the form of up-armed mining equipment).

The Death Marshalls are great figures, but yeah, Wyrd minis was listed in the original post.

Heresy mutant zombie things as skinwalkers.

Which ones? The zombies by heresy are pretty good and useful as they don't have clothes. Good for a graveyard rising. The weapons are generic enough to be used as well. The only one that's an issue is the one with a horned helmet but hey, I'm sure something can be done.

The Centaur hero is a figure I picked up a while back to have turn up in Deadlands as an Abomination that was corrupting young braves.

I also have the angel and demon figs for use when the posse has trouble in Lost Angels.

I should have remembered that  ;D

I won't bring everything but I'll bring the actual deadlands figs and a few others that may be of interest.

Did you see the Rapier undead cowboys and Indians at Warfare Karl? They looked better in the "flesh" than in the pics on the website;
