Ok, our piddly western Canadian/US cons are totally overshadowed by that quality of terrain. One of the many reasons I wish I was a wargamer in Europe.

I'm not sure if it's enough to post the photobucket link here. Do I have to give some kind of permission for others to view these? Haven't found any hint...

That stuff is awesome. The quality of the work that is put into the Tactica show is amazing. Just once I would like to spend a year preparing for just one show. Seems like I never have that kind of time though.

That dungeon look really good indeed… do you know what rules they use for their game?

The grey coloured game (forgot the name of the table  :() was see-able last november at our Crisis show, and i must say I thought it the prettiest looking table of that show.  And that Rivendell and others are just WOW!!!

I particularly loved the dungeon. They were playing Mordheim in it. The nice thing about the table was, that each room was liitle table on its own. They put all the rooms together like a jigsaw-puzzle. Must have been 20+ rooms there. Just awesome.

The Rivendell table was just for show, but it was really mind blowing. About 2X4 ft large and lovely details.

The black and white table is from the Nosferatu game by Vikotnik.

The Afghanistan table is Björn's Triumph and Tragedy game.

I don't really know who put up the WWI table, but it was huge. And the guys had actually put up a little exhibition next to it, showing helmets, ammo and old photographies from the late WWI up for display. Really well done.

By the way, were you able to reach the photo bucket account? There's tons more of pics, I just didn't want to choke the forum...

Sometimes it is a little bit frustrating! Everyone is going to the shopping convention "Salute", but to visit Hamburg it is to long and expensive???? Dont talk about coming, do it in 2011. You can order your stuff via internet, miss the salute and come to Hamburg. Try somethig new....

That WWI  Kaiserschlacht table was one of the best games I saw in 35+ years of wargaming.
The little details  -sometimes quite gruesome- on the terrain itself, the way they divided the gaming table into transportable units almost without visible seams and many, many  other things.
The glass display cabinet complemented the game perfectly. Not just artifacts but also a few exquisitely painted figurines and vignettes, which made the ' link' with the gaming table complete.
Behind the game was a screen which  showed WIP on the gaming table alternating with other interesting tidbits.
Something that caught my eye for instance was that the  laminated play-sheets for the Bavarian player were beautifully edged in white and blue. I believe the Irish player had his sheets equally adorned. Way to go guys! It's things like that that transform a good game into a great one. Top class and two thumbs up to the Frankfurt guys!

I feel almost ashamed to make a VERY small negative, or shall we call it a less positive comment. The barbed wire rolls looked a bit 'new' to me and would have perhaps looked better if weathered slightly more. Then again they were possible used as game markers, and it might otherwise have been hard to spot them on this super- realistic terrain.
