Stalingrad 20mm
« on: February 28, 2010, 09:03:45 PM »
Hi, I wanted to share one of my almost finished projects (have to many project I lose track of some of them  lol).

This time I wanted to recreate Stalingrad, one of the most bloodiest and decisive battles of world war II.
After watching the movies "Stalingrad" and "enemy at the gates" I immediatly started the project. Most of the buildings were made some months/years ago and all out of cartonboard! (no other materials at hand at that moment but I quit like the style).

Part I     http://wargameterrain.blogspot.com/2009/08/stalingrad-15mm-part-i.html
Part II    http://wargameterrain.blogspot.com/2009/08/stalingrad-15mm-part-ii.html
Part III   http://wargameterrain.blogspot.com/2009/08/stalingrad-15mm-part-iii.html
Part IV   http://wargameterrain.blogspot.com/2009/08/this-is-already-fourth-part-of-my.html
Part V    http://wargameterrain.blogspot.com/2009/08/stalingrad-15mm-part-v.html
Part VI   http://wargameterrain.blogspot.com/2009/08/stalingrad-15mm-part-vi.html

My final goal is to play an immense citybattle involving hordes of russians (+/- 150-250) and some germans (+/- 75-125).
However I still need to paint the germans and 100 russians  ;D

+ building:

- the central station
- pavlov's house
- the grainelevator
- lots of rubble
- more ordinary houses and appartements
- mamajev kurgan

I hope you enjoy the pictures,

Greets,

Good to see your work in progress.

Our school club played Arnhem last year - an enormous table with lots of bridges - and for this year are looking at Stalingrad, in 15mm.

We'll be in need of enough buildings to cover a table layout of 20' by 12'.
Still a couple of months to build them....

Nice, sounds nice to have a school club. Our clubs are mostly on pub visiting and playing poker/card also nice but the not the same nice as wargaming.

Most of our members are under 16, so (officially at least) drinking beer and playing cards aren't options.
