Some photos from Strange Aeons from last Saturday

Hey lads,

I demoed Strange Aeons to three guys last Saturday at an event. We played 6 (!) games and had a real blast. We tried all kinds of monsters, including the new ones from the first expansion. All in all it was a great day and everybody had a real good time. Here are some photos with short descriptions:

The Agents of Threshold behold the scene and contemplate their next move (I'm the dude on the left btw)

"There! I see something in the woods...get them!"

"You will pay for what you did to Agent McAllistair!!"

Agent McAllistair obviously felt cocky and ran around the Cultist Leader into some ruins. Unfortunately for him this was within charging range of the Leader. After some pummeling with a club, McAllistair was actually killed by the Cultist Leader! The two survivors killed the Cultist Leader. Threshold found 1 map piece and recruited some more Agents, up to 15BP)

"Quickly, grab those items! They are crucial for our mission!"

(Game 2: Retrieve the Artifacts with 1 Character+4 Agents versus 1 Mummy, a Tcho Tcho, Cultist with Tommygun, 2 Cultists with bowie knife and one SwarmThe Agents ran forwards and quickly collected two map pieces before encountering resistance.)

"Get them my minions...!"

(Game 2: Retrieve the Artifacts with 1 Character+4 Agents versus 1 Mummy, a Tcho Tcho, Cultist with Tommygun, 2 Cultists with bowie knife and one Swarm The Lurkers advance in the middle and on both flanks. One Cultist actually was nominated only in the final turns as the Lurker had a lot of models to nominate)

Surprise Attack by the Tcho Tcho! A swarm carries along an important book...right...

(Game 2: Retrieve the Artifacts with 1 Character+4 Agents versus 1 Mummy, a Tcho Tcho, Cultist with Tommygun, 2 Cultists with bowie knife and one Swarm The Swarm grabbed the objective and started dragging back one artifact. The heroes quickly move forwards to get rid of it. The mummy was shot down by then, having scared several agents. The Tcho Tcho runs screaming from the woods and sinks his fangs into the agent who goes down with a major injury.)

"Where is that strange old man...?"

(Game 3: Threshold gets cocky and choose the "Strange Old Man" for 1 Map Piece. The High Priest gets a load of extra points to spend and ends up with some nasty spells (Touch of Death...) and abilities. The Threshold models are ALL slaughtered to a man by the Touch of Death spell. The Character and one agent end up with leg wounds and one gets a chest wound...ouch! The model on the left represents a Squad Leader, hired for 1 map piece)

"Silence...I think I hear something howling up there..."

(Game 4. Threshold chooses the "The Bad Place" scenario for 1 map piece (the Cthulhoid pyramid represents the scene of horror) and face off against a Werewolf and a Suicide Cultist. The Cultist advances forwards and keeps his 'package' intact. The Werewolf sneaks behind him and growls in anger)

"IA! IA! FHTAGN CTHULHU!"

(Game 4. The Suicide Cultist gets near the Character who makes his Resolve check due to Fear. The Cultist is then shot down by the good guys. The Werewolf follows up and tears into the Character. The Character barely survives! The Agent with Double Barrel walks up and shoots into the melee...CRITICAL HIT...fortunately for Threshold he hits the Werewolf. The Werewolf suffers a D+5 damage roll...ouch...one dead wolf!)

It is a weird game indeed, having men in robes staring at rocks...

It certainly was a blast! I got lucky being able to join playing, all 6 games to be precise, and had a great day. The great demonstration given by Malebolgia, along with his great looking mini's and scenery even gave me the inspiration to start some madness (hint) on my own... Ah cool seen a lot of there stuff but i didn't recognise the mini..He just has that look about him that suits.
