Some Ole RAFM COC Explorers
« on: March 10, 2010, 01:50:47 AM »
I recently Purchased a combined RAFM COC Adventurer Pack which contains 9 figures combined from all the Misk. University Expeditions to Egypt and the Amazon.  I'm very happy with it, it has quite a varied selection.

1)Evil Looking French Legionare
2) Rifle Toting Hunter
3) Older Antiqutarian
4) Female Explorer
5) Young Male Explorer
6) Older Male Explorer
7) Evil Foreign Man - Edward Gavigan - Brotherhood of the Black Pharoah
8) Egyptian Porter with Reliquary Box
9) Jhavoro Blowgun Native

For a price of $12.00 USD, it is hard to beat.  I found it at Noble Knight Games but may have bought their last copy. Anyway.  I painted my first 4 of these figures.

In an case, some of the RAFM COC mini pics are very hard to see or so small you cannot make out much detail so I thought I'd share some close-ups of completed figures.  If I recall correctly some of the old RAFM COC line were made by our friend Bob Murch at Pulp Figures.

Anyway....

Yeppers!  I bought all those sets years ago, and are so happy with them.

I even got two Egyptian sets, and converted  one tentacled mummy into a mummy on fire.   One figure in that set looks like the Professor W of this site, kinda.   ;)

 ;)

My favorite Deep Ones, as well, are RAFM (Brigades Hybrids and Rail Wars "Famites" make up the "not yet complete fishmen" horde)

Great paint on all of those Rafm CoC figures !!

Smokey, I'm interested in the 'Famites' but cannot find anything like that on Monday Knight Productions website.  Can't find any pictures using google either.  Any chance you could post a link to 'em?  I'd be grateful.

Ha !  Found 'em !

In spite of them not being Monday Knight Productions but instead Jeff Valent Studios, AND not being "Famites" but "Faminites".

I "re found " them too, thanks to the deadlands thread  :).  Sorry, always thought they were  called "famites" (maybe that's why I couldn't find them the last few years?)  :?

I did origionally buy them from Monday Knight, I swear.

Tell me, they do look useful for multi genre, eh? I think they make great, not yet deformed Marsh clan (the poses) and certainly ghoulish Pulp/Colonial/Western ghouls/zombies/folks up to no good?

heck, put some gills on their necks, (scribe them on?  easy enough, probably?) and they are full blown "Gilman", eh?

BTW, how are you, Chick?  Doing well, I hope?

That's what I love about you guys...

I've never even seen "Faminites" before.  You're right they would serve as a great band of degenerates.

I've really never even examined the Deadlands range either.

Added the Evil Egyptian guys pic above.  I'll add the others from this set as I finish them.

Here are two of the Mirilton's Classic Monsters from their Nightmare's range.  I really like this figures, being a classic horror movie buff.

I've still yet to complete the werewolf figure.

The camera caught a glare on Frankenstein's skin but I'm really happy with how he turned out.  The staples, stitching and bruising turned out wonderfully on this model.

My only gripe about the mummy, is it's dull shambling pose but admittedly that is the classic movie mummy-look.

Great paint job on cool looking figures. Size wise are they 25's or 28's?

USHP,

those old grenadier minis were definitely more 25mm than 28mm

I don't know they appear to be 28mm.  I recently purchased a few of the Nightmares sets.

The zombies are very nice....the antiquitarians figures are wonderful too.

I have yet to begin painting them.

I haven't noticed anything size-wise to distinguish the Nightmares figures from the other ranges.  Side by side they are appear to be the exact same size as my RAFM, Copplestone, and pulp minis.  Now after close examination, I might say the zombies seem a bit thinner.  The mummy and frankenstein figure appear 28mm to me as do the other antiquitarian figures.
