photos of our first full size Chaos in Carpathia game
« on: March 21, 2010, 01:43:33 AM »
Hi Folks,

We finally had the chance today to play with full 350 GBP warbands.  Chris brought along his British Monster Hunters to fight against my werewolves.  We played two scenarios.  The first was a Battle In the Wilderness in which the werewolves drove the humans from the field (or forest as it were).  The second scenario was a Seek And Find mission where each of the buildings, as well as the small stone idol, held artifacts (i.e. objectives).  Each side found two and the game was a draw.

Marc is working on his Mad Doctor and creations at the moment, and in a couple of weeks, we'll be starting our narrative campaign in earnest.

Game One:

Game Two:

If you have any questions about what's going on in any of the photos, please don't hesitate to ask.

Wow I just posted how Plynkes Congo game was going to derail my current project with thoughts of African adventures... now this?

Great, great, stuff, I look forward to seeing more.

Nice Werewolf swarm during the first game, looked like the poor hero had no chance!

Black and white photography. The best look in my opinion for horror, Brings to mind the old Universal horror films. Great looking terrain and very atmosheric games. ;D :-* Wish I could join you.

Colour is great because his minis are well painted!

You should try sepia(?the brwon colour?) next!

The unfortunate Ms. Poundwood.  It was a situation where her charms were useless to be sure.

We were going to, but because it was the first time we played Battle In the Wilderness, we decided to just use the "thick woods" rules.  Fear not, however - as we play the campaign, we will certainly roll special events every game, or mutually choose them, depending on where the story is headed.

I'm really torn about this.  I love how the black & white photos set the mood, but the colour photos show the richness and depth of the models and terrain so much better.  Here's the photo of Ms. Poundwood surrounded before making it black & white.

I may go for a compromise in the end - an opening shot of each report in black and white, and then colour photos throughout showing the action.  We'll see.

That sounds like a good idea as the color shots show your hard work better and I like it more. However, one or two black and whites at the beginning is cool to set the mood. :)
Fantastic thread as you did push me over the edge and resulted in me getting the pdf's for CinC,but also Chaos in Cairo and Cronos! lol :D
I'm looking forward to your next installment.

Cheers

Seconded.  A couple of B&W shots, possibly in with some background/scenario text at the start to set things up.  It is (in my opinion of course) a shame to obscure the richness of the colour and detail of your miniatures and terrain with all monochrome.

It still looks incredible though :)
