A bit more work done, although apart from scraps of balsa wood I have now run out and I still need to finish the balcony and an external stairway.

Looks great!

Really excellent buildings, and the signs are great too. Really nice looking static grass on the bases of the models and the base of the first building - very convincing tufts you have there!

The Grand Central Hotel and Bragg's Cafe are open for business...

I wanted the hotel to have a freshly hewn timber look but without just looking like I hadn't painted it. In the end I think I struck a happy medium. It's not 100% perfect but I'm happy with it.

The water effect isn't dry in these pictures but the paleness around the edges of some windows will be gone come morning.

what program did you use for the signs?

It was photoshop. Just text over various background textures with the transparency fiddled about with.

Textures from here... (you have to register but it is well worth it).
Fonts from here...

That really is a most impressive layout. I think the fresh timber effect you sought has worked out very well.

Due to an over abundance of trees in our scenery box Gomorrah has moved from New Mexico to Colorado and changed name as Gomorrah didn't feel quite right...

Anyhow... A couple more signs for some buildings being built by a mate, pictures of these very soon.

What did you use to base your buildings?

What did you use to base your buildings?

It was just normal 3mm thick hardboard.
