Renegade Minis WWII & WWI?

Anyone have any experience with these guys? 

They're having a sale.  Before I spend a bunch on them and start my WWI Germans and Austrians I wanted to get a sense of the figures.  They look great on the website.

Do they come out to be more like 25mm or 28mm?  I'm looking for larger figures that would be compatible with Artizan and Copplestone.  (Foundry is awesome but those 3mm really change the scale.)

They're bigger than most ranges, and not as detailed as Great War Miniatures, but I think they mix pretty well with GWM, Brigade or Copplestone. A couple of local players use them and I can't really notice the difference once they're painted. They had to wait for a month or so for the miniatures to arrive, though.

I haven't seen any Renegade WWII, but the WWI figures are nice.  They tend to the big and hefty end of the 28mm spectrum.  They make Old Glory and Foundry figures look like midgets.  Generally, the photos on the website give a good sense of what you will get, and if you poke around the WWI boards here you will probably see quite a few more photos of Renegade stuff.

Stay away from the cavalry, though.  The riders are fine, but they only have one model for the horse, and it is very brittle.  All the weight is on a single fetlock - most of the Renegade horses I've bought have broken off their bases.  I could pin them, but that is too much bother - I'd rather get better horses from the getgo.

I've bought the lowland scots WWI, and they are not necessarily taller, but bulkier
I am content with the details - these might seem a bit rough, but it is more the proportion - everything is there and properly made
they are not as equisite as Empress minis, but with paint everything looks a bit suppler

Mike Owen (Artizan) sculpts and nice to paint IMO

Renegade figures are very good value for money, I have Early War British and Germans and overall they are pretty good sculpts they're are a couple of wooden poses but overall I like them. I wouldn't touch the Early War Austrians though I bought I couple of packs to see what they were like and was very disappointed.  For WW1 Austrians I'd go for Scarab (for Late War) and Brigade (for Early War) Scarab mix quite well with Renegade for size and stature, brigade are on the smaller side by comparison.

They work well with Great War and ok with Brigade.  They paint up well but are not as detailed as some.  I like them and the price cant be beat.   In the photo, the French officers are Great War the troops are Renegade.

WWII = Sorry.  Never seen them in the "metal."

I painted and sold a French WW1 army and a couple of their ECW armies and owned both German and British WW1.They are large ,nice and for the price can't be beat.
Stay away from the WW2 IMHO.I bought 4 regiment deals ,Germans and Brits,then I sold them for a loss at Cold Wars.Never painted them they were just too grotesque for my taste.The British paras were passable...maybe.
Also if you are in the US be prepared to wait a month or so.

The WWI's are fantastic. Quite large sculpts as is usual with Mike Owen's models. A pleasure to paint as they are selective of certain details.
I find some historicals can be too fiddly with all the bits and bobs on them, Renegades' are a nice medium.

The figures are  great, Nice and easy to paint and pretty chunky so it actually feels like you have something in your hand when you pick them up.  I have both Early and Late war figures and I liked them so much I ended up buying  25 of their regiment packs
