- and it all make sense now - everybody can now see that you certainly need more dwarfs :D

Indeed, those beginnings of units you see here need to be expanded to blocks of 40-50 each.  :D

So you haven't painted any artillery, yet?? This army certainlly needs a cannon or two - so no need to sit on your hands :P - keep on working, my friend :)

I have several copies of the marauder cannon and swivel gun (and their respective crew) and will also get John to do a warmachine crew set, that I can then use with Empire warmachines (cannons, mortar, helblaster, hellstrom) and some older dwarf ones (90s flamecannon).

My first warrior priest... with a twist.

He's supposed to be an imperial dwarf warriorpriest, converted from an Alionas miniature. Additions include the plastic hammers, new face and head, new breastplate, sculpted holy book, icons on the shoulderplates and some smaller mods. This is an attempt to reconcile classic marauder feel with present day empire iconography, using a basemodel that is neither citadel or marauder. I think he came out ok. The original mini had a beard which got removed and replaced with a decorated breastplate. A beardless dwarf would be odd though, so I decided to hide the lower half of the face with a neckguard (which is typical of WP's anyway) and show just a hint of hairgrowth. The original head was pretty small too, so I bulked it out and resculpted the face. His shoulderplates received one of those german crosses and a twintailed comet.

I love the warrior priest too...he is a fantastic conversion.

WK I hope you don't mind if I point out that a similar model is now available from LAM...he certainly isn't as unique as WK conversion but is still quite a cool figure...he can be found here: http://www.lead-adventure.com/product_info.php?cPath=23&products_id=144

And I second Clams request...We NEED some Artillery support for this group!

Cheers,

I like the new LAM Cleric a lot, but what makes this one so much better is the heavy armour (Chainmail and Shoulderpads) and then WKs awesome body armour and hammer conversions  :-* :-* :-* I want one - just like that. It scream so much war priest.

Really hope you'll let John do us one ;D ;D

- and I will be looking forward seeing your old and new crew men painted :P

There's definitely one planned for the range. The pose will probably be different, I already have something in mind for that.

Pose is not that important to me - just as long as you keep the heavy armour look and a hammer. And should the miniature include a book, well I wouldn't hold it against you :D

Finally another update with a newly painted figure. This is a captain with warhammer from the very unique Lead Adventure Miniatures Bruegelburg range. I'm quite relieved it is finished, not because I didn't like the sculpt, I think it's great, but because it seemed like it was an accident riddled experience. I lost count of the number of times this got dropped, chipped, splattered with paint from another project, dropped again and got the hand reglued at least 3 times. But I got it done and it looks good, so moving on!

And a quick comparison with Pro Gloria (left) and classic metal GW (right). The scale fits in just fine.

Since it's been a while since I converted any dwarfs and I feel I have learned a few things since the last ones, I started a new one, over spare casting of my dwarf range. Lots more to do and a couple things to clean up, but so far it doesn't look too bad, the trousers came out particularly well. Next update (with arms) in a few days.

Not bad, not bad at all - and now the tricky part - getting the proportions and hands right :)

Will you try out doing a head, too?

Will be looking forward seeing the rest :)

I'll chicken out on the hands, recycling one of John's for the right hand and partially resculpting another for the left hand. Likewise, I'll probably convert one of John's heads (new beard and hair, some changes to the hat, perhaps a nosejob).

Looking good so far, WK.

Have a go at the difficult parts.
Go on, you know you want to!

I might want to cast it up at some point though if it's good enough, so might as well use all means at my disposal to make sure it's the best I can do.

Well if it helps convincing yourself to try it I can tell you that I've just sculpt a hand, really not such a big problem - but no. 2 ... o_o Get them to looks the same, now that's the challenge.
