Weird Wild West (Foundry Cowboy Zombies)
« on: March 29, 2010, 04:16:14 PM »

I thought that people might like to see individual pictures of the Foundry Cowboy Zombies from my recent LPL 5th round entry:

These were the only zombie figures I owned, so that pretty much dictated my choice of theme. They're very well-made figures, with gory exit wounds and other causes of death sculpted on every model (it's hard to see from the photos, but two have been scalped).

It helped in determining a color scheme for them to assign every model an occupation in life (Riverboat Gambler, Confederate Soldier, Bank Teller, Cowhand, Undertaker, Hillbilly, Outlaw, etc.) and then to extrapolate the changes in death. I like my zombies pretty monochromatic (as though the poisoned soil has leached all the color out of them) and these actually wound up more colorful than I originally intended. I also prefer my zombies dryer and crumblier, as opposed to wetter and fresher and I think that blank, pupil-less eyes are a must.

I like your dry zombie style and you've really personalized them with their clothing. By the way I've never seen these zombies before, now I'll have to look for them.

The best looking zombies I've seen so far  :D

I've had a set of these tucked away since they were released, maybe one day.

They're really buried (pun intended) on the Foundry Miniatures site and quite hard to find (they're rather inexplicably group with the Apache collection):

Lovely figures! I've never really got into Weird West gaming, but I probably should.

These pics are a great incentive to start  8)

I picked them up when I thought I might be playing some games of LOTW (Legends of the Old West). I intended to use them as a regular gang, who just happened to be inexplicably undead... ::)

Lovely painting. I'd snaffle this pack up in a second if the postage wasn't so high. Although I'll see whats kicking about at Salute this year.

Yes, I have some VSF types as well as plenty of standard westerners, so maybe i can come up with a few scenarios. I wish we could get repeats of The Wild Wild West series here in the UK  :(

I haven´t done horror/oldwest crossovers yet, but this is rather tempting... great paintjobs!

Hey, first post from a lurker!  Love the painting on these!  You do a lovely job of layering different colors rather than just gradients of a single color.  Really nice and thanks for sharing.
