Suggestions for Brit Hero figures
« on: March 29, 2010, 07:46:35 PM »
I'm finally going to throw my hat into the Atlantis campaign and as agreed with Red Orc I'll be putting together some skirmish games. Basically I'm going to create a unit of rogue Brits who think it will be rather profitable to run around behind allied and enemy lines knicking whatever they can get their hands on! Think Kelly's Heroes or The Man Who Would Be King except my band is going to be called Kenneth's Heroes  :).

What I need are some decent characters for the ranks. Dewbakuk has already pointed out the new character figs from Empress which will be ideal. What other figs do you suggest bearing in mind they need to be military and as British as possible? Colonial types like Billy Fish in the Man Who Would Be King will also do.

Thanks.

Some of the BTD ones are very nice.

How about an Oswald Bastable, nomad of the time streams as a character?

He is going to be fielded in my British force when I get around to it, Warlord of the Air is one of my favourite books. It really inspired me.  :)

Artizan ahve some fine options as do Pulp Figures..

I guess it all depends on what branch he's from i fancy a dashing Pilot commanding some troops or a Navel brigade...Though i should calm myself as the Jap's have a small list of stuff to pick from (Hint, hint any miniature companies out there..)

Become who you really are... [/i]

Redoubt may have some suitable figs in their Zulu Wars range - ZU40 and ZU42 or their Victoriana range - V3?  ???

Yeah, I imagine him as a Naval Brigade officer. A bit rough around the edges, a bit long in the face... A bit ragged from the Opium as well.

I'm planning on getting some Pulp figures stuff and artizan stuff for my anarchists, guess what book they are wholly based on as well! I'll be using a variety of sky pirates... I'm also going to make some airships hopefully, based on the WLOTA cover by Patrick Woodroffe.  :)

West Wind do a pack of Yeti Hunter Ghurkas that might make for a passable Billy Fish:

The colonel is doing excellent service as Lord Delabrough for my Atlantis/VSF force, yes.

Kenneth?

Sounds like a rogue Junior Officer of the Quartermaster's dept.

Use the fellow sitting on the rock or the one to his right. Give him a rough crew of armed stevedores in and out of various states of uniform. All on the prowl for sell-able goods and small cargo.

And if you want an alternative Billy Fish figure Pontoonier Miniatures Ghurkas and perhaps some of their British troops.

I heard a rumour that they were coming to Salute. can't remember where I heard it mind you, so it could be false...
