Looking forward to see Skithögen modeled... ;)

I wonder if it will be spray painted.

Excellent paint job on those viking, especially the Mithril Beorning figure.

Hi ,
I realy like the vikings they are one of my favorite army in every wargame .
I also like the culture of these men and the sagas too .
It must be the danish roots I have . ;)
But I also like german tribes so I think why not use a few of the wildlooking  foundry germans as a lost tribe of cavemen for the iland ?

BTW  can´t wait to see the Owlbears

cheers Grimm

Thanks guys! Your approval of my painting is highly motivating.

I'll put a word in for you with Odin when I reach Valhal.

Now I haven't really settled it all yet. But I've just bought 15 ninja. So I'm considering this idea:

Before the game starts, you roll to see where you've landed:

1-2: Owlbear Island
3-4: The Island of Ninja
5-6: ?!?

The board will essentially be the same in every situation. By changing one or two things (eg. adding or removing a samuraistyle gate or druid style temple) I can swap which island we're on.

Objective of the game will be of course to get as much loot as possible back to the Skithögen  longship.

I'm open for suggestions as to the last slot.

Also - let me know if you think that I should just stick to the owlbears.

OK so here's my progress on the first owlbear so far.

I've ordered these two also:

Both are by Jason Wiebe. Not as menacing as the Otherworld one, but I hope painting them the same way can tie it a bit together. Also I'm beginning to soften up on the D&D ones.

I imagine the otherworld one as the old raunchy alfa owlbear.

I don't get owlbears. They are some sort of D&D invention aren't they?

Who cares! It's a bear and an owl. What's not to like?

To me the main attraction is the utter silliness of such a being.

Owlbears are awesome... I have never played a game with one, but as Thorbjörn say, the sheer silliness of such a being is enough to make them enjoyable.

Owlbears, cool!

I don't care how absurd they are. Owls look freaking scary anyway.

Especially that Otherworld one - great mini!

Mind you if you like daft monsters you want to flick through Out of the Pit - loads of the weird and wonderful creatures from the Fighting Fantasy World...

I shouldn't be chuckling at this and the "bajsdraken" comment... but I am. =)

Regarding owlbears... great thing about them, you can plop them in any game and they'll fit right in. Atleast pulpy type games.

Not too fond of the poses and arm feathers on the two reaper figs. Will be fun seeing what a nice paintjob will do to it.

You're right. The reaper ones are not nearly as good as the otherworld. But it's narrow field out there so you can't be picky. In fact the first reaper I've posted looks more like a birdman costume than an actual being to me.  lol
