A WIP shot of the workbench.. erhm I mean the things I'm working on for this project:

Viking, Viking's Brother, Shepherd, Priest

Apparently the number of abdominal muscles is not the same on each side of Viking.  lol
So it's a 7-pack and not a 6-pack.

And we're off!

I've framed and build the basics.. no clue how to do water, but I'll probably

Here's the size difference between vikings and lilliputs. I use 10mm figures for the puts. I think that's about right... after all I still want them to be visible.

The vikings will be gatecrashing the annual lilluput harvest feast.

I haven't painted the terrain, but bought it used. So I'm going to give it a repaint soon.

Everything is soon with this project!  lol

You'd be amazed about how much the honourable Saxo put in his chronicles about the Vikings. A lot of it has been edited out as the work of a drunkard later on by the Illuminati (using the universities and the historians there as their tools) though.

"The Lilliputs were actually quite a developed people. They had wheels, plows, some steam tech and other stuff that was like really advanced. They even had the Lilliput Calendar. It sort of predicted the future and had stuff about how the world would end because the calendar ran out of pages. They fancied really colorful housings and lived like farmers or traders or something. Some of them were also bureaucrats.

Unfortunately they were also filthy rich and only 1/10th the size of a proper Viking.  So when in 856 the first Vikings started raiding the Lilliput Lands they were quite ill prepared to meet the invaders.

Later when the Vikings started settling and establishment trade commerce with the Lilliputs they were kind of bred out due to intermarriage. That's how Dwarfs were created. But even later on again they just looked like normal Viking people. Maybe with beards. But the women not so much."

Now unto painting some really colourful houses!

Excellent fluff.  I was unaware of this historical narrative.  I just love the fact you've found a legitimate reason to mix scales in your project.  Lilliputians indeed.   :D

It just occurred to me that at some point the Chainmail game had an owlbear.

Also Mirliton does an old Grenadier one, but it looks like a guy in a suit.
So I painted it as a guy in a suit:

I'd join. Those owlbears are looking good, I especially like the otherworld one. I believe it's otherworld, although it looks a bit small.

Yes I like the otherworld too. I might buy another one of those as I don't think my paint job justifies it. I'm tempted to do a brown one also.

In fact! Where should I go with the next 3 o'bears? I'm sort of thinking that I should keep the theme I'm going with now. To tie them together and all. But then again... I might also just do all kinds of obears. Then I'd have an excuse to buy the same model twice.

If there's an owlbear society I want to be the president!  lol
