I'll look forward to the cavalry and artillery. They are an essential part of any Mexican force afterall (I do wish I earned more money :'().
I'm not a mercenary. Killing's more of a hobby for me.

As Plynkes said they will  be armed with baker rifles and the appropriate black leather belt and cartridge case, sword bayonet and powder horn. (Think Napoleonic 95th rifles equipment and you can't go wrong.) Although evidence suggests that many of the Cazadores were armed exactly as per the regular soldados with Brown Bess muskets.

As supposedly elite troops they will be better dressed and not wearing sandals. However the basic uniform is the same. The figures will be in a mixture of skirmish poses including an officer, bugler, sargento and sniper. :)

Sound interesting, of course I have now found the pictures on the Boot Hill site -

Particularly like the look of the one on the left with full kit and covered shako. A few like that would be nice.

Can't wait to see what Bugsda can do with these! You know what would really set them off? Some LBM flags! Some Mexican-American War figures would be nice as well.

Yup, I'd like some of the 1840's US Dragoons myself and Boothills the one to do it someday though i guess they already have tons of other stuff to make pertaining to the 1835/36 affair but one day maybe we will see some later stuff................!

Cazadores, looking forward to them especialy as they will be in skirmishing poses. Is the sniper to sit in a cypress tree to take pot shots at Ben Milam Nick?

Yes. They will come dismounted as well as mounted. They will be in the next but one release. Up next are Cazadores, artillerymen and another pack of officers. :)

Will you be making Cannons etc or can we just use Napoleonic artillery?

No guns, just the crews.

And the sniper will be crouching to take his shot. :)

Missed this before.  Not my period but I can appreciate great sculpting when I see it.  The faces are really characterful (there's a charging one I particularly like) and the pot-bellied chap is really good.  Good luck with the range - though I don't think you'll need it!   ;)  :)

Stupid question, I know and I really should know this, but did they use French "Gribeauval" type guns? I put all my Mexican ref books somewhere safe and can't find them to check  >:(

That's what I'd hoped, as I have a couple of Foundry French guns knocking around somewhere  :D

Yes, it's odd, but I suppose if the British offered the cheapest small arms and the French the cheapest guns.....

These figures are great!  Are you planning on expanding the range?  I've always wanted to do the Mexican American War but there were never any figures that really grabbed like these.  I would like to see more Mexican Infantry and Cavalry and Americans Infantry and Dragoons.  A young Bobby Lee and U.S. Grant Personality Set would be fantastic.
